i'd believe it more if it was based on a book (i could be wrong and it could actually be...but whatev)

Ouch! That makes it more difficult... Most of what's playing right now is pretty crappy. If you're looking for action or comedy you might want to go for Kung Fu Hustle though (if it's still playing) since it's apparently both action and comedy in abundance. I haven't seen it but a lot of people seem to have liked it.

It isn't, by the way. It was written by a relatively unknown screenwriter and then rewritten by a couple of writers working for Alias to satisfy Micheal Bay's slick-Hollywood-production ideals... I haven't seen it though. Maybe it's terrific.

The Island is a complete rip-off of a little-seen sci-fi film from the late 70's called Clonus, complete with the platinum blonde heroine. There's also a mish-mash of other rip-offs in there, from Coma to Logan's Run.

The film itself was about a **/**** for me. The first half is much better than the second half (which is pure Michael Bay action nonsense). I swear that first 50 minutes or so was directed by someone else. I wish the whole film had followed that route, instead of the jarring and very sudden shift into mindless action.

Nah, everything stinks that's out right now...

I did see "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory", and I liked it a lot (altho Depp's performance was a bit of a disappointment)...

Go see "March Of The Penguins"...
