Grammar - please help I'm studying for my English Verb 1 exam on monday and I have some difficulties with a few excercises. So Native English Speakers please help! And if possible, native British-English speakers.
Is the verb durative, non stative / durative, stative / terminative, non-stative / terminative, stative ? The ice melted. They will receive their awards at a ceremony in Madrid. Do the underlined verbs present examples of: the mandative present subjunctive / the formulaic present subjunctive / the past subjunctive / the modal past tense / a normal use od indicative mood ? Mrs Sheepshanks wished everyone curtisied. It was as if he wanted to pick a quarrel. Have a look at the sentences expressing different types of mood in English. State wether they are acceptable (+) or not (-). Justify your answer. It's time he were back. He was put in a cell with no clothes and shoes lest he injure himself. They removed the prisoner in order that he not disturb the proceedings any further. Now pleaaaaase, help the poor girl!!! =) | |

Conversational English has little to do with grammar, especially where I come from. As such, I find it near to impossible to provide you with a good answer. Even though I made a 35 on the English section of the ACT and shite like that.
"It's time he were back" looks completely wrong, but you know what? Fuck it, just cos it sounds wrong when I say it doesn't mean it is. 2the9s, where art thou when someone needs Engrish help? Insatiable taught me everything I know about balls.
