combing video files and burning onto DVD?

how do i combine two large video clip files together and what software to use to burn on DVD? i tried it before (can't remember programme) but they were in bits and i had no sound confuse

I use Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing and Adobe Encore DVD for making the DVDs. They're pretty expensive, but once you use these then every other program which does similar tasks pales in comparison. Adobe rocks!

okay, i now have CucoSoft and am coverting my video file to a dvd file, so that's 1.3 gigs to 4.7(?)

does it normally take hours to convert?
