Believe me, I started this thread to bitch about the word "conversate" BUT what I wonder is what words I use incorrectly that I don't know about. I can not stand "irregardless" I just want to slap people upside their head when they say that. It's NOT a word. It's double negative.
I knew this guy who would say "haded" instead of "had" - like "I had to got to the store."

I also don't like when people say "pitcher" instead of picture. They're 2 different things! Other things that bug me (and this is when people write) is when they don't know the difference between these words: There, They're and their. Passed and past Know and no

Other things that bug me (and this is when people write) is when they don't know the difference between these words: There, They're and their. Passed and past Know and no Amen to that! on & one to & two ( I am serious) or to & too My mother tongue is Dutch, so I am very very very sure, you can find some posts here where I have used the wrong word or perhaps spelled it incorrectly, but we did get these differences in school. Just like: it's or its by & bye ... oh well.... I had a good laugh about what is said in this forum though.

people often use "at your earliest convenience" instead of "at your convenience". the first one, to me, implies a sense of urgency and obligation on the part of the other person, while the second one is simply a courtesy. drives me nuts... if i'm in a bad mood, i'll wait an extra day to return a call from somebody who says that.
