Yeah, but that's not always true. I know a person with 2 college degrees that is working 2 jobs. A college education does not always = a good paying job.

Yes I understand, the nurses etc are very badly paid over here in the UK, and many other workers, but they are devoted to their jobs and dont moan around like saintsation wanting to party till his 30s...

I'm 28 and currently have 2 jobs. It sucks, I think I'm quitting after I work tonight. I can't be out till 2am and then work my day job at 8am. I need the extra $$ but my sanity is more important.

Amen, thats what i tell my cousin.

NOT TRUE AT ALL, I aM A PERFECT EXAPLE, I cut classes and made f's and a new orleans public school product and i am making over 26 an hour here where i work in minneapolis. I travel and everything. So education really doesn't make a difference. I have an airframe license and used to make over 30 an hour at northwest airlines before they fired me 5 yrs ago. So your statement is not true,.

There are well paid jobs out there. Even when I was waitressing I was VERY well paid. It depends on how well devoted you are to your work, and how far you can work your way up, also good relations with the boss/manager do help too..

Some people just do not look hard enough..

then how come i can't get a job doing what i really wish to do then? in order for me to even get so much as noticed by an art studio or what-not, they want a cat who has a degree in the needed areas of expertise. i flunked my art classes in high school--not because i didn't have the ability, but simply because i felt it was pointless to learn how to do another artist's style of work when i already got my own thing. the majority of my artistic expertise has been self-taught--you think a muthafucka's gonna wanna take me on without any college degree or formal training? most cats today wanna see a diploma of some sort. it's silly really, a piece of paper that tells folks "hey look, i can do what i do real well!" as opposed to just proving shit up front. silly, but that's how the world works.

sorry saintsation, but you need to get your head outta the clouds. just because you got in the way you did don't mean that everybody else can get in where they fit in as well. that's life, not a given.

Not everyone is fortunate as your exes to have man to pay for everything. I hope, though you do that out of the goodness of your heart, and not for control reasons.

But life cant hand out everyone say £50,000 and say go out and party while you are young.. some ppl have money, some dont, some have better parties and social lifes with less money than others.. it all depends.. you are suggesting everyone should have the same treatment and same standards, it just doesnt work that way..

My job here might be hiring due to retirements i was told. I let you know. also my head is not in the clouds, I am just saying education is not all that to bend over backwards for. Look at bag smashers at Northwest they make 17 dolars an hour just to toss luggage .

in order to make it and make it well enough in life, you gotta have an education. it ain't gotta be any sorta ivy league-type affair, but you gotta have some sorta learnin under your belt. you cannot get by in this world for completely free.

Basically u need skills, look at the nfl players and nba players also. when they on camera they talk ghetto like i type. They have skills. I had skills to fix airplanes at northwest and i had skills to get in this job here taking 3 simulation tests in denver, phoenix and here in minneapolis. None of those jobs ask what u made on your report card or who discovered america. Its skills. and what u do. Porno stars are dropouts but they do it good like me and now millionaires so its skills.

Depends on what you want to do. For alot of jobs an education may not be a necessity, but it can make it alot easier to get your foot in the door.

For other jobs, doesn't matter how skilled you are, you need a degree if you want to do it. Period.

You want to practice law, medicine, accounting. You need a degree, regardless of how much natural ability you may have.

Well, if you ever need a major medical procedure you can go to a witch doctor if you want. I'll take the dude with a degree while you're having chicken blood poured over your genitals and set on fire. wink

Not all lawyers are criminal defense attorneys. Actually, most aren't.

There's more to being a CPA than filing taxes.
