A HbO movie that I'll give lilgish cult status is Space Camp

[Edited 6/21/05 20:32pm]

Space Camp doesn't even have an IMDB listing. All you get is this:

http://imdb.com/title/tt0283855/

CULT!

Wait. SpaceCamp is actually 1 word - there we go.

The cast includes Kate Capshaw, Lea Thompson, Kelly Preston, Joaquin Phoenix, Tom Skerritt, Terry O'Quinn! How could it go wrong?!

It does have a listing. One word - Spacecamp. I remember HBO showing that one all the damn time. And I know they did, because I watched it every damn time! lol I own the DVD, too. It was the second movie I saw Kelly Preston in. The first was this other HBO gem:

Plot Summary: 1956: The shy Jonathan's luck with girls changes when he wins the rebellious Gene as a friend in his last year of highschool. Gene is adored by many girls and manages to teach Jonathan a few lessons. Gene himself would rather just be with one girl: his girlfriend Bunny. But since his father is poor, her parents don't accept him.

eek

The first thing I ever saw Kelly Preston in was Twins. Unfortunately she married John Travolta, but she's still a MILF. HOT!

Well, she's all kinds of nekkid in this one. It's just an American version of Porky's (still the highest grossing Canadian film, by the way!).

Awfully good terrible movie! lol Joaquin Phoenix was billed as Leaf Phoenix back then. I didn't put together that they were the same person until Gladiator. VC, you neglected to mention that Larry B Scott is also in it. Better known to most as:

lol

He's better looking than he seems in that picture. By the end of the movie, hell even at the beginning, it seems more like the two of them are gonna get some bone time with each other! Catherine Mary Stewart plays "Bunny." lol She was also in Night of the Comet.

Yes!! All the goddamn time. Zorro: The Gay Blade is on DVD, and I've been patiently waiting for The Incredible Shrinking Woman to find its was to DVD. I still know the damn commercial jingle in that movie to this day.

Galaxy Glue, Galaxy Glue
What would we do without Galaxy Glue?
Galaxy Glue, Galaxy Glue
Life would go to pieces without Galaxy Glue!

Little did poor Lily know that Galaxy Glue would shrink her ass and that she'd wind up at death's door in the garbage disposal!

I've run out of posts. Time for my alter ego to take hold.

Another movie that HBO saved. It gained a big following after tanking in the theatre. Thanks in large part to its presence on cable, the film's soundtrack later became a hit and inspired a bomb of a sequel that nobody's seen to this day!

You know the ones - movies that may have underperformed at the box office and then for whatever reason found a new life and a big following on home video. Which are your favorites?

Night of the Comet

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai

Big Trouble in Little China

Hairspray (most anything by John Waters, come to think of it)

The Return of the Living Dead

Terminator

Evil Dead

Blade Runner

Blue Velvet (Baby wants to fuck! Baby wants to fuck blue velvet!)

Another weird one from Ken Russell. Saw it on VHS back in 1989. Strange movie. He's just done a number of great, odd movies.

Lair of the White Worm
Altered States
Crimes of Passion
Gothic
(about the night that inspired Mary Shelley to write Frankenstein)
and of course...Tommy
