Why bother with America? Only 6 f1 cars raced on sunday on the america circuit!
Anyone see this at the american track yesterday? Only 6 cars (on the bridge stone tyres) raced as the micilin tyre teams couldn't go out as the track was too unsafe for the drivers on the last corner. So michilin refused to let their teams go out to race! It was a fiasco. The promoter offered to include a cicane in so the michilins could still run and would be deemed safe enough, but I think FIA said no as it goes against some stupid regulations. Plus ferrari blocked the idea (all the other teams voted for it) as they said why should they suffer (which was mean- ferarri is on bridge stone tyres, which work fine on the track) America fucked up as did the FIA. America fucked up by putting on new tarmac for the nascar season. Why does F1 bother with america? Not like americans watch formula one is it? They rather get giddy about roundabout racing.

You're lucky I don't care enough about auto racing to defend America, because I would SO get in your ass for this if I did.

I don't see how you can blame America for this. I thought the FIA should have come up with a solution but the problem is that F1 is all about money and politics now so nobody could come to agreement.
It was absolutely pathetic that a compromise couldn't be found ... spending all that money to basically watch testing - what a complete waste of time and money. If I'd gone, I'd want my money back.

Yeah I woulda demanded money back. I dont blame america's promoters, but why do fia bother to include an american track? The new tarmac was part of the problem. If FIA want to promote fromula one in america, then actually, properly get some money behind it and not just use someone elses track that is not even built for F1. If FIA really tried promoting F1 in america, then I'd be all for an america track, but why bother if they dont? Just for the money obviously. Shame as Iam sure a few diehard american fans came to the race. [Edited 6/20/05 16:01pm]

Ferrari are known for kissing fia's ass. [Edited 6/20/05 16:07pm]

My man, it's all about hauling in the greenbacks, simple as! America has the world's largest and most lucrative motorsport market and F1 are trying to gain a slice of the Indy Car racing fan base so they can tap into their piggy banks "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Formula one has been alot better this season (last one was crap), and is the only motorsport I will watch (only with mates though as it gets so dul on ur own), so I hope this dont tarnish its rep too much, as this was a serious own goal by michilin and the stubborn fools fia!
