I'm sure many of you have been to Hawaii. And I'm sure all of our photos look basically the same.

It's really beautiful there. If you haven't gone and you get a chance, go. It IS hot, but I don't like heat and it wasn't miserable. It's breezy and rainy enough to make it bearable, and when it's not, there's a big ocean waiting for you to swim in it.

Ok. So.

Here's a pic of the fabulous and funky dive we stayed at, the Royal Grove. The OTHER pink hotel.




My favorite part of the trip was probably my encounter(s) with some wild sea turtles. I had an underwater camera and got some cool pics. They are a little cloudy, because the surf was rough on that beach, especially the second time we went. . . probably shouldn't have been swimming out there . . . but I'm a good swimmer, and I couldn't resist hanging out with the turtles.








The glowing white object is a native Seattlite enjoying the company of the turtles on the first day, when the water was fairly calm.






Did a fair amount of snorkeling. The fish pics didn't come out especially well, for the most part, but this one is pretty good. Those are convict tangs, I believe.





One of the other things I discovered I really like is kayaking. I'm the one with the paddle in the air. The other is my dad. We went up and down a river off to the right of here, and then I went out around that point on the left. My upper body was SO SORE that night. So worth it.

There are a million more pics, but those are some I like. . . my tan is fading. . . I think I should go back and take more. . .

I really need to get myself there. I even have a friend living there now so would have a free place to stay. He just opened his own business and everything so hopefuly that means he'll be there for a while, but goodness! It's SOOO beautiful!!

Reminds me of when I visited Hawaii. Memories of Honolulu, Oahu and the island of Maui. Eating Mahi Mahi and shopping on Kalakaua Avenue and eating macademia nuts

Awesome pix, thanks for sharing! Those sea turtles are so darn cute. Would love to go to Hawaii and swim with the sea turtles or the dolphins. What island(s) in Hawaii did you visit?

Just Oahu. And this little beach isn't really a park, isn't well marked or well-known. . . but turtles apparently love it! It's on the North Shore, just off the highway that comes from the Waikiki area. Fabulous.

Go! If pennies are an issue, I highly reccommend that hotel. It's cheap and very friendly. They even loan out beach mats, hats, bikes, boogie boards. . . whatever they have on hand. They have cheap internet access in the lobby, for those of us who can't bear to be seperated from our email. 2 blocks from the beach (Waikiki). And it's bright pink!

I've been to Oahu... way before I had a digital camera. Most of my pictures are in a photo album and of my honeymoon moment. They will stay put.

Snorkeling was among my best moments ever, I use to have a salt water tank... so it was neat to identify various fish by name.

Awesome pictures/moment... paradise, absolutely.

Yeah. Most people, in their 20s especially, there seem to be working really hard to be at their hottest there. I found it to be a bit vapid, but I suspect many people would enjoy it.
