Batman Begins goes kaboom

Batman Begins led the box office on Friday with an estimated $15.2M in its third day of release pushing its total to $39.4M. The Friday tally came in lower than last Friday's $18.6M launch of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, although the Caped Crusader debuted on Wednesday pulling much of its fan base out on Wednesday and Thursday. For the Friday-to-Sunday session, Batman Begins might collect $42-46M givng Warner Bros. $66-70M over five days. By comparison, openings for the last two films in the franchise were $52.8M for 1995's Batman Forever and $42.9M for 1997's Batman & Robin. Both bowed in June on a Friday.

Universal opened its mother-daughter comedy The Perfect Man on Friday with an estimated $2.2M. The Hilary Duff-Heather Locklear pic should take in about $6M over the weekend.

Among holdovers, Friday-to-Friday declines were 54% for Mr. & Mrs. Smith, 49% for The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D, and 56% for The Honeymooners.

They were hoping for $100-115M over 5 days. Oh well. I wonder if they'll be willing to bankroll a sequel. Maybe this one will have legs, unlike Batman & Robin. Probably not.

i think the 'Tom & Katie' media overkill had something to do with it. i've heard a few people say that this was a boring movie. very long and drawn out at the begining. shrug

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

This is a horrible piece of shit... As expected...
And is it me or is Brad Pitt just a really overrated and plain crap "actor"? He's on par with Keanu Reeves...

12 Monkeys....

talent when he wants to be..

And "Fight Club"... "Se7en" is great movie but he was totally miscast in it and his acting was just atrocious...
Come to think of it, these 3 movies are the only movies he's been in I actually liked or were any good... (I don't count "True Romance"... Sitting on a couch with a bong in one's hand does not make one an actor...)

Yeah but they had good directors. Bloke is still a boring fucker. No presence. But then, not many do to be fair. But he just "so pretty" that gays and girls see past that.

I thought Brad did a pretty good job in "Kalifornia" as a deranged lunatic killer.
