My friend and I go to Trader Joe's and pick out dried fruits and nuts and put together our own Trail Mix of what we like - dried apples, cherries, cranberries, peaches, apricots, almonds, walnuts, raisins, seeds, whatever you like. Just a couple handfuls will get rid of you hunger and give you energy for hours.

Which Trader Joes do u go to??

heres one i need to get back in the habit of doing:

you buy a 16oz thingie of non-fat sour cream..mix i a lipton ranch package...

i use this to dip my carrots in.....non-fat and low in calories....

Please stop doing this. Stay away from this processed stuff. These flavor packet thinsg are loaded with blood pressure increasing sodium. Stay away from processed stuff. Eat your veggies raw or with a natural homemade dipping. Here is a good one if you like creamy dressings.

1 cup plain non-fat yogurt
shallot to taste
1 clove garlic
tsp olive oil
chives to taste
black pepper to taste

you know, im still open to having you move in with me and be my personal trainer slash sex slave....

never forget that...

THANKS FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL TIPS!!! Keep em coming...

Here's a fave: just pop load of seedless grapes into the freezer.

When you're hungry, you've got tons of little (healthy) popsickle nuggets! lol

Plain nonfat yogurt by itself is pretty bland and tasteless to me. Lately, I've been adding about 1/2 - 1 cup chopped fruits that are juicy (strawberries, melon, pineapple) to a 1/2 cup serving of yogurt. The juice from the fruit sweetens the yogurt just right, and it is still non-fat. If you want to add a small amount of healthful fat to it, sprinkle some chopped cashews or a bit of granola on top of it. Lammastide's suggestion of frozen grapes is also a good snack.

I know you mentioned you're good at healthful cooking as is, but if you're interested in a great book with tasty recipes, give this one a try:

I bought it recently, and have already made about a half dozen of the recipes. All are high in fiber, low in sodium and fat, and very tasty. They're also all very easy to prepare with only a handful of affordable ingredients.

It's a hardcover book. I think it might be out of print, but I got it used on eBay for $7.00. The turkey and veggie loaf recipe is yummy, as is the baked breaded tomatoes.

When I'm on a health kick, which is less often than it should be, I try to snack on extra fruit and veg...

...I've had a load of cherry tomatoes today nod

Or another favourite would be some celery, with a nice dip
