Need some quick ideas for dinners I'm off to the grocery store soon and I'm writing my list.
I need some new ideas for dinners....nothing too fancy. And don't tell me to use my grill, because I won't. It uses charcoal and it's a pain in the ass and I don't go near the thing. Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine gave me this recipe yesterday which I haven't tried yet but she assures me is delicious.
Spinach Frittata Cook spinach and add to a greased baking dish. Add eggs beaten with milk, salt and pepper and bake on a medium heat for around 20 mins.

well, i love to cook - so we could talk about this all day long
but, i know what you mean about getting some really fast/easy/cheap dinners on the table in a hurry if i dont plan dinner and have it cooking by the time school is out, the kids think the world is comming to an end so here are some of my "oh shit its dinnertime and i aint ready yet" meals.. mind you, i CAN cook - and this is not an example of it ready ? dinners gotta be ready in 15 minutes, what the hell to do ? take a small package of hamburger out and start frying it up.... you can add onion and fresh garlic if you wanna, if not, then just add a bit of seasoning, whatever your family likes meanwhile, open 1-2 boxes (depends on your family size) of either rice a roni (i use one pack beef and one spanish rice)... or that Zatarain's rice mix. start preparing that while the meat is frying. put the lid on it, and when the meat is done, add the hamburger and replace lid, let it keep cooking so the meat tastes like the dish. in the end i usually add a can of green beans and a can of corn..... or some stewed tomatoes the kids love it, and well, its edible for the grown folks once again, this is an OH SHIT, WHERES DINNER recipe and, actually, i know it sounds funny as hell, but lately i have tried some of the new hamburger helper's out there, and ya know, they arent so damn bad i always add some noodles cuz its too saucey for the kids and that way it stretchs it out a bit. lasagna is one of the kids favs.... and we just tried something called, chili mac. i served it with a side of refried beans, and all the toppings that you would tacos .... not half bad i figure as long as they get a fresh salad and some veggies in there with it, they'll be ok .... fast, REAL dinners.... well, how about some of those chicken packets ? you know, season a chicken breast in whatever flavors you like, lay it in a foil packet, cook for a bit, then add fresh veggies of your choice, and finish cooking thats easy .... or, take a pizza crust, you know the ones that come in a can ? unroll it and cover it with italian dressing, then add cheese and whatever you like on your pizza .... roll it longest end to longest end, so its still as long as it was in the can ..... cook at 350 for as long as it says on the can.... serve with sauce for dipping if you like, i use speg. sauce. you'll need to make 2-4 depending on family size..... they go fast how about steak and stuff ? make hamburger patty for each person, and make them LARGE, over an inch thick looks huge right ???? good, that means your doing it right now, put them in a large frying pan.... season them real good, i use red pepper, black pepper, worch. sauce, garlic, onion salt... but, whatever you like - cook it on high till it browns the bottom, flip it, and brown that side real fast... then lower heat to med/low....add some water to the pan, cover and forget it for about 30 minutes. when its almost ready, remove lid and cover in shredded sharp cheddar, green onions, fried mushrooms, diced fresh tomato, and bacon if you like.... mound it on top real good, and put the lid back on just until the cheese gets almost melted, it will finish on your plate i serve this one with twice baked potato, salad and fresh steamed veggies. ok, good luck with dinner, im tired of typing [Edited 6/18/05 10:27am] One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

oh, fry some hamburger up, mix it with some cream of mushroom soup and some frozen mixed veggies.... lay that in a casserole dish.. and top with mashed potatoes.... shredded cheese if you like on top of that... bake for about 35-40 minutes or until the top of the potato is getting browned just a bit....
pretty good or.... the rice a roni (spanish mix) with hamburger again, and stuff that into green peppers that have been SLIGHTLY boiled, just until a bit tender.... and top with cheese, bake for 20 minutes. One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

My favourite potatoes: (Aloo Mehti)
Par-boil some potatoes. Add a generous quantity of vegetable oil (sunflower/olive) to a pan and add a tsp of turmeric. Add potatoes and, when nearly cooked, add plenty of dried or fresh fenugreek. Serve with anything. Lovely.

What about spaghetti or rigatoni? Very easy to make and very economical too. Add some rolls or breadsticks, and voila!, all set. Psychodelicide's alternative account because I ran out of posts again!
