whilst in paris at the beginning of the week i was handed a flyer by a german guy wearing a cbgb's t shirt , no surprise he handed the flyer to me as i was wearing a ramones t shirt(the ramones helped make the cbgb's club famous),the flyer was for an art exhibition featuring works by dee dee ramone and others ! i was well impressed god i was in paris 5mins and i had somewhere, i must visit already ! the next day i found the art salon and the german guy was actually there his name is gerhard seckler he is an artist himself and he plays in a german punk band called generation n , he described himself as a cyber punk artist !!! (really nice bloke by the way). anyway he was chatting to me for ages about the ramones , he was quite friendly with dee dee and decided to take dee dee,s artwork to paris for show. there are also works by joseph b. raimond , himself "general" seckler, lothar felkel and paul kostabi dee dee,s work is a bit like the cartoon album covers he did for the ramones theres one self portrait of dee dee as a black man with a big mouth !!! interesting as dee dee was once quoted as being a blackman stuck in a white mans body !!
