I know, I used to be so good at it. We have a team here at my work but it's silly softball. No rules and you can drink beer. Hey that doesn't sound too bad!

Let's see... as a child I participated in/had lessons/played for at least one season:

dance
gymnastics
swimming
softball
volleyball

Softball lasted the longest, I played about 3 seasons sporadically over the years. I liked dance best, and even won solo competitions when I was only 4 years old. But my parents couldn't afford to send me to dance school past then. sad I was always bitter about it too, cause my older brother played hockey for about 10 years straight which was VERY expensive what with all the equpiment you need and whatnot. harrumph.

FOOTBALL
basketball
a little "soccer"

looking back, I did alright in those sports. with football, I can now see that I was caught up in simply being on the team & wearing the cool uniform..

I did better with basketball, but there were so many good players & was on the bench more times than not..

then of course,
PUBERTY
hit me at age 12
& from that point basically all the
TACKLING
RUNNING
SHOOTING
DRIBBLING
SWEATING
HEAVY BREATHING
&
SCORING
I did involved.. more than 1 'helpless' teenage girl..

biggrin
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

I used to get picked for the football/rugby teams when I was younger because I was ALWAYS the tallest in class. The only problem was NO-ONE explained the frickin' rules to me!!! Not very handy when you're running around around a pitch not knowing what the hell to do. confused

Plus, a few of my mates suggested I join them in Tae Kwon Do during my teens. That lasted, like, 5 minutes. lol

i don't know if it's a gay thing or not - i know a lot of gay folks who love sports and a lot of straight guys who hate sports - but i just never understood what sports had to do with anything i gave half a shit about. maybe if andy warhol had been a football coach or if william burroughs had been a sportscaster, i dunno...shrug
