A friend of mine is going to Madrid on December 8th and has just discovered that it's a holy day. So the question is, does everything (e.g. shops, bars, restaurants, museums etc) close on holy days in Madrid ?

As she's only going for the day it would be a bit pointless is everything is going to be closed.

If your friend wants to do some shopping in Madrid maybe it is a little
pointless to go there on a holiday, as you said.

I just checked and December 8th everything will be open (Christmas season)

Not sure about Museums though but I bet they will be open too.
