Boycott Chipotle and Demand More for Your Money!!

As I was reading the negative reviews on Mcdonalds new apple "salad" I became inspired and thought about the many fast food joints that suck and those that deserve praise and encouragment. I would like to start with one that I believe sucks - Chipotle!!!

I would like to say that Chipotle (there are many of these here in Chicago) really sucks the big one!

First, I hear Chipotle is owned by the Mcdonalds corporation which is just so wrong wrong wrong.

Second, they do not offer healthier corn totillas, only the more fattening flower and crispy ones. BTW Crispy tortillas shells are not used in Mexican households, if we want a crispy taco the corn tortilla is fried in oil.

Third, they need to make some major changes before I spend any money there. Perhaps, list the nutritional info on their website, which they don't most likely because the food isn't as healthy as they claim. If it was, they would list the calorie info so that I can keep track of my freakin daily calorie intake!!!!

consider yourself lucky - you'd be better off visiting any taco joint than a chipotle.

that really depends on what you're looking for. authentic Mexican? go taco stand. otherwise, Chipotle may do the trick. like you, my mom doesn't like Chipotle because it's not what she thinks of as a burrito or a taco. i love it, though. I like the barbacoa, i like the steak burritos, crispy chicken tacos. Crazy hot salsas. McDonald's is a part owner in Chipotle, which was founded and headquartered here in Colorado. I think their food is more fresh than in tyical fast food restaurants. Sorry, but I can't join your boycott. Good luck!
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

i don't have a problem with chipotle, even though i'm not thrilled with the fact that they're owned by mcdonald's. shrug

still and all, when i'm starved and need a quick, fast meal, i can always count on chipotle's veggie burrito to do the job. i'm a little burned out on 'em right now because i used to eat 'em ALL THE TIME for lunch, but every now and again i'm in the mood for a chipotle burrito with green sauce and hot corn, with a big ol' fountain soda with lemon wedges. yum!

i WILL say that chipotle could stand to have a little more variety in their menu. more side dish options or something, i dunno...

The food is healthy enough. Hell, way healthier than most crap you will get at fast food places, if fast food chains are where you are going to eat anyway. The problem is portion size. Just eat HALF of that gigantic burrito, and you won't have to worry about counting calories, fat, etc.

That's my big problem w/Chipotle. The burritos are just TOO BIG. Who can eat all that?? Not to mention you take one bite and you get, well, cheese, and then the next bite is all sour cream, and the next is all beans. I like my burritos fixins all messed up together. And I tried the soft tacos (which are pretty tasty, mind you) but again, they put more stuff in them than can fit so it's falling out all over the place. And you get 4!! Who can eat 4 of them?? It's insane, I tell you.

I have no problem with the place or their portions. A better variety of sides is warranted, though. smile

I know. lol Although, I admit, I CAN eat a whole giant burrito in one sitting. redface Although I feel like the fat guy in Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" afterward.

I'm half Mexican and we never eat burritos all wrapped up anyway. (well at least my family doesn't) You just eat all the "fillings" with your with your tortilla in your hand. Just rip bits off and scoop it up. nod

mmmmm.....soft tacos.... drool

my sweetie likes the local burrito places better than chipotle, mainly because they do better beef burritos and whatnot - i can't really eat there with him, cuz even the veggie stuff at those burrito shops get me a little sick. they say they don't use lard anymore at any of those places, but i gotta wonder...

chipotle might make me fat as a tick, but i've never gotten ill eating there.

I know many that love this place....Burritos as big as your head.. Yeah wonder how much calories and fat is in that. I was never impressed with them. They became a chain out here to compete with the other tex/mex places that do it so much better. And then I found out that McD's owned them. doh!

I'd rather go to any mexi-dink than chipolte anyday.

you know, there's a chain of burrito places with the motto "burritos as big as your head" - la bamba's. i used to go to the one in muncie all the time when i was in college, and they've been opening quite a few locations in chicago lately.
