Why would a man want to be a women?

I have seen a few sex change shows lately and it is always a man changing into a women..
What gives, WHY??
confuse

I am a women and some days I get so tired of putting on make up and dressing all feminine.
It gets old after a while.

I do admit that I enjoy watching those shows. I find it very interesting. the last one I watched was a bit too graphic-

While I was doing my hair this morning I thought of the last man I saw change into a women and I thought, WHY, WHY, WHY???
It is a lot of work!

The serious answer is that it's genetics...some men were supposed to be born as a woman...but, it just didn't turn out that way...so, science has the answer for that...
The upnote on that is that a man who has a sex change never has to worry about going through "that time of the month".

The less than serious answer is...
Why?...Thinking your own sex change may have been a mistake?

lol

Maybe a man would want to be a woman because he wants to have a vagina. Pretty simple, I suppose.

As for the above post, the way I understand it, some men (or vice versa to what I'm about to type) really do feel as if they've been born in the wrong body and are never comfortable in their skin. I have no objections to someone wanting to be comfortable and feel like themselves.

I sometimes wish I had a penis for a day. I'd beat it like it owed me money.

I have read stories about ppl who were born as males but were genetically inside a female. How sad. I feel so bad for those ppl to have to live life like that. I know that is why most of them get the operation to change but some of them look worse after the operation.

Some men do not make good looking women!!

for anyone who really is interested in this question, or in gender issues in general, i really cannot recommend this book enough:

it puts the transgender community into a really easy-to-grasp perspective, but more importantly, it's got some great exercises for ANYone, even the most straight-as-an-arrow uber-heterosexual, to understand their own sense of gender and identity.

Question is, are they really men to begin with?

Hmmm.

It's much more complicated than a man wanting to be a woman.

These people feel that they ARE women, and that their genitalia just don't reflect it.

Let's just say you woke up evermorning and realized that you're carrying a body that isn't you--you'd be pretty upset and disturbed. Likewise these people are walking around in bodies they don't feel are theirs.

At least that's how I see it.

my understanding is that there are spectrums, both psychologically speaking and physically speaking.

I have always had a very strong female identity within my psyche/emotion/intellect/soul and when I was younger I believed I would have to have a sex change to be who I truly felt that I was. Gladly I have reconciled the fact that I have a swinger with the feeling of my inner self having boobs and a vag biggrin

I'm nineteen, and wouldn't have said what you initially said on this thread. Your age is no excuse.

Oh yeah. Iam dim too.

yeah the bored part was maybe a lil' silly. But if u were going out with someone and after u had slept with them and they said "oh, I was once a fella", u would puke right? That would be a nightmare.

I don't think anyone here said they had been dating someone who decided to tell them they were once a fellow.

But to answer your question, I'm not sure what I would do, considering I've never been placed in such a position. I'd like to think such a thing wouldn't matter, however, I know I'm not that noble. I can't even get over the fact my ex/current is having sex with other women.
