Rocknrollisalive talked me into going to see them at Nottingham Rock City earlier in the year, which I did with some serious trepidation. As it happens they were top notch, tight as f*ck performance and a fantastic medley at the end of all sorts of shit - from Beatles thru early hip hop thru Justin Timberlake and back again.

lol I edited my post above. biggrin

But yeah, he's really arrogant. I wouldn't say he sucks as a drummer. I mean he's decent enough (not that I'm some expert on drummers anyway lol ) but he's no Bonzo. razz

I never got the big deal with Bonzo either, to be honest boxed (I'm sorry! Please don't hurt me!) I mean, no question he was good, but there have been better...

Yeah you better sleep with one eye open from now on! mad Bonzo was brilliant, and also the blueprint for almost every drummer in hard rock that came after him. (well, him and Keith Moon) Have you seen his Moby Dick solo? Phenomenal. To do that 20 minute solo every damn night for years on end touring is just unbelievable IMO. And not just that song, but every song he plays on is just amazing. Sometimes I listen to Zeppelin songs at top volume and JUST listen to the drums. cloud9

Of course, I'm sure there are others who are technically better that came after him, and improved on his style, but he's still my favorite. And Ginger Baker. Especially since I got to see him play so well at 65! eek
