It was a bit of both for me. I think it helped to see more of the comedy by watching Army of Darkness first.

It was a bit of both for me. I think it helped to see more of the comedy by watching Army of Darkness first. You must watch them in order 1st Evil Dead 2nd Evil Dead 2 3rd Army of Darkness It's a great series, Evil Dead was the scariest of the 3 I find it lonely being a loner

I saw Evil Dead (1) When I was 16 years old. Scared the hell out of me! I was very impressed by it. Never watched it again... Maybe I should...Just to see if my 'scarelevel' is as high as back then!

Evil Dead, for me, was pretty scary. It's weird because some of the technology in this movie was pretty bad but effective. It's very creepy.

if you're new to the horror genre then evil dead might seem scary.
BUT once you look past the obligatory gore and listen to the dialogue, you realize the movie is hysterically funny. they all are.

It was just mostly gore to me. I wasn't scared but creeped out. Army of Darkness is still my favorite of the three.BUT once you look past the obligatory gore and listen to the dialogue, you realize the movie is hysterically funny. they all are.

I wasn't into too many horror flicks at the time they were released, so I didn't bother to see the first two. Then Army of Darkness came out and a friend wanted to go see it, so I went...and laughed my ass off! It was a number of years later until I saw the first two.

Evil Dead is a great load of fun. Very gory, yes, but scary? Not really. It's more tongue in cheek than anything else. Evil Dead 2 is pretty much just a remake with better, gorier effects. I didn't really care for Army of Darkness. If you like the films, you need to find this release:
It's out of print, but worth finding for the packaging alone. They're doing up Evil Dead 2 for release with similar packaging. Found this at Davis DVD: "It's back to the "Evil Dead" well for another helping of ghoulish mayhem with Anchor Bay's Evil Dead 2: Book of the Dead 2. Director Sam Raimi's kick-ass sequel gets a wicked re-release this time around with its very own collectible Necronomicon "Book of the Dead" packaging designed, once again, by special effects guru Tom Sullivan. As an added bonus over the last Necronomicon release, you'll be able to press the bulging eye to hear the book scream! Look for the disc itself to feature the first ever high-definition Divimax transfer of this classic film, along with new and exciting bonus materials. No street date yet, so stay tuned." Even John Carpenter, who's been on set while they're filming it, doesn't seem enthused about it. In fact, he seems somewhat bitter.

It's funny why I can't figure out why this movie creeped me the hell out. I have to watch it again. There are few movies that get under my skin and I can't watch them by myself, this movie, The Exorcist and a movie called Let's Scare Jessica To Death. Hi, I'm 38, you think I could watch them by myself. I do live alone though.... M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! Evil Dead is somewhat creepy, but not really scary.
Evil Dead 2 is my favorite, since it combines scares, gore and all that with a liberal dose of humour. This is the film that the cult of Ash was born from. Army Of Darkness (or, as I like to call it, Medieval Dead) is just the filmmakers having a good time. Nothing remotely scary about it, and its not suppossed to be. Yes, they are doing a shameful remake of Evil Dead, with someone else playing Ash. Listen up you primitive Hollywood screwheads: BRUCE CAMPBELL IS THE ONLY ACTOR WHO SHOULD EVER PLAY ASH!!!! PERIOD!!!! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

I refuse to see something that is taking a shit on a movie I love. I refused to see that fucking Texas Chainsaw remake, and I won't see this one either. It's just plain wrong to remake something like this. I'm not that way about all remakes, but I am with movies I really love. If they had gotten Bruce to be Ash, I might have considered seeing it, but instead they got Stiffler from American Pie. here's a recent interview with him
Mark Millar Interview One of the most acclaimed and successful creators currently working in comics, Mark Millar has written two of the best-selling comic book titles of recent years in The Ultimates and Ultimate X-Men. A writer who is known for the range of his contributions to the field with everything from the romance of Trouble to intensity of The Authority, Millar also weaves a huge range of elements into his stories - from politics to relationships, religion to science, and everything in between - blending them into seemless, unrelenting action and drama. -from Avatar Press How would you describe yourself to a random person on the street? As an Oregonian, an actor by trade, with a few side hobbies. Who were your influences when you were a kid? Have they changed as an adult? I liked vintage Bob Hope, when he was really sharp and Danny Kaye - Iike most of the old school actors because they were really polished in their trade. My tastes haven't really evolved since, because I see a lot of slacker-like acting these days. You’ve acted, directed, done back flips, and wielded a chainsaw. What are your plans for surprising us in the future? (How to get better abs the BC way?) I'm going to issue a 6 hour audio version of the book through Ryko this summer (stay tuned here folks!). It's acted out, like a radio drama, with sounds effects and everything - like a movie without the picture. Was there a particular instance that inspired How to Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way? Yes, I looked in my bank account and said "holy shit - I gotta earn some cash!" Aside from that, readers can take heart that there is absolutely no love advice to be found in the book. You’ve been referred to as a jack of all trades, can we see this as an attempt to keep interested by showing more facets? Mainly, I find new things to do because the entertainment industry is morphing all the time. I'm just trying to stay afloat the technological changes more than anything. Aside from that, I like the big umbrella of entertainment and there are many fun things to do within it. Since comics are a new thing for you how difficult/interesting was it to change gears from writing a book to doing a comic to writing the film? I thought it was really hard, but I went at it as organically as I could. I wrote a short story first, so I could see it in my head, then I did the best I could to translate that information to X amount of panels on X amount of pages and where to plug in dialogue and narration. It made my brain smoke. The easy part was that in filmmaking, you are taught to think visually and it's the same in comics - it's mostly all visual. Are you up for writing more comics after doing The Hire and Man with the Screaming Brain? Well, I tend to respond to the market if the market responds to me. If folks enjoy the comics (and purchase them), I'd be happy to cough up more mindless entertainment. Is there anyone out there who you would like to work with? In comics, film etc. I don't usually keep a wish list, only because I try and make the best out of a given situation. I figure if I hang around long enough, I'll run into some cool folks, and I already have. How do you feel about being replaced in the relaunch of Evil Dead and will it inspire you to show them how it’s done with Evil Dead 4? You know, Rob Tapert, Sam Raimi and I all owe a great debt to our original investors since they helped us get started, so the re-make is for them, and it's for fans to experience that type of scary flick with cool new effects. I'm happy to get some new, young punk and splatter him with blood. Can we look forward to another cameo in Spider Man 3? If so any ideas yet on what you’ll play? As you recall, I named the character in the first Spidey, defeated him in the second one, so surely, I will become him for the third and take over the world!!! After directing your first feature film has this brought out the inner sadist in you? Well, you'd have to ask the crew that I worked with. I'm of the "firm but fair" school of directing. I tried not to abuse my endless powers. Sell us on Man with the Screaming Brain. If you're looking for a social allegory disguised as a horror flick, this is for you! Love it or leave it, Screaming Brain isn't the product of a studio system, so it'll have elements that appeal to more of an off-kilter crowd - and there are plenty of those folks in this grand country of ours. And there you have it~ Bruce http://www.bruce-campbell...millar.htm looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)
