just finished the novel last night, and I LOVED the scene with Yoda and Qui Gonn. That simply MUST be restored to the film when the DVD is released. It explained so much about how Yoda and Obi-Wan learned to fade away into the Force, and how the whole Force ghost thing works. I also loved how Yoda acknowledged that the reason the Jedi fell was because HE had been too rigid, and hadn't allowed the Jedi to evolve. He tells Obi Wan that they must wait on The Force to let them know when the time is right to begin training the children (which furthers the whole Obi-Wan thinking in terms of Luke, since that is who he is assigned to watch over. The Force indicates when it is time for him to begin Luke's training, so he is never thinking in terms of Leia at all). Yoda recognizes the dogmatic rules he instilled are what gave the Sith an adavntage, since they had 1000 years to grow and find new ways to use the Jedi's rules against them. Anakin's fall is, at least in part, the fault of the Jedi who refused to see his needs. Qui Gonn had been rebellious, but had Yoda listened to him the Jedi Order would have been prepared for The Sith, and Anakin would have been nurtured the way he should have been. The scene when Yoda humbles himself by bowing and pledging himself to be Qui Gonn's student just gave me chills! I truly hope this scene is restored, since it is downright CRIMINAL that Lucas cut it! I know what you mean. I haven't read the novel yet, but I was reading the script in "The Art Of ROTS" book last night, and even that has Qui Gon (and Mon Montha) still in it, as of Dec 04. I just hope they restore then for the DVD. The other deleted scene I would love to see is where yoda covers himself in mud, acts crazy and pretends to eat wookie. That will make the scenes in ESB even better. .

Still in the film, there is a scene on Kashyyyk where the clone troopers are mopping up after the order 66. In the evening fog, two clone troppers on ATRT's come across a fallen tree ad some dead wookies. You here the guard say something along the lines of "All the wookies are dead here, lets move on". In the cut scene, yoda pops up covered in mud, jibbering like a mad thing, talking about wookies tasting good. The clones then say "All the wookies are dead here, lets move on", as as they leave, the "dead wookies" get up, as they are really Tarful and Chewie pretending. It was all an act to sneek past the guards and get yoda to his ET bauble ship! .

Senario. You have kids or people that have never seen the star wars movies. Do you show them 1,2,3,4,5,6 or 4,5,6,1,2,3 I think it has to be 4,5,6,1,2,3, yet George Lucas is insisting that 1,2,3,4,5,6 is the way to go. But then again, George says there will be no ep 7,8,9, and we all know how well he lies..... So whats the answer and why!?! Well at the Screening in London of all 6 movies just prior to Episode III opening, they showed them IV, V, VI, I, II, III. And Lucas was there, so I'm sure he would've changed it if he hadn't approved. I was at the six film screening. They were originally going to be screened as 1,2,4,5,6,3, as george wanted he is vision of 1 to 6, but the premiere could not start until the evening, so he took ep 3 out of the loop. So as a happy medium, they decided to show them as 4,5,6, 1,2,3. George said at the show that they should be watched 1,2,3,4,5,6, and not all back to back, but one every Saturday. He joked he was concerned that we would get brain damage watching them all back to back! .

There was another cut scene where Obi-Wan and Yoda get past the Clonetroops at
the Jedi Temple. Obi-Wan approaches the Clonetroops carrying Yoda in his arms all wrapped up like baby, saying he's found a Jedi Baby. The lead Clonetrooper asks how he knows it's a Jedi baby, to which Yoda ingnites his lightsaber and the fight starts. A lot of the more humorous scenes like this were cut. As was most of the dialogue in the scene where Anakin/Vader kills the seperatist leaders on Mustafar (which was for the best as they were mostly corny one-liners which ruined the mood). The one-liners like Anakin's resonse to the Seperatist who pleads that Darth Sideous was going to reward them handsomely ("I'm your reward. Don't you think I'm handsome") were just too cheesy, and had to go. sosgemini said: so is there a comprehensive list of outtakes? was a lot left out?
Yes, there was a lot left out. As to which ones will be included in the DVD's 'deleted scenes' section I don't know, but there's bound to be at least 8 of them. Here's some of scenes that I'm aware of that didn't make the final movie. (There's also tons more of scenes that have the odd bit of extra dialogue etc that I haven't included). 1. Extended opening space battle - there were several extra bits of dogfighting and crazy flying sequences before locating Grievous' command ship. 2. On the way to the elevator after landing on Grievous' ship, Anakin & Obi-Wan get surrounded by battle droids. They get out of the situation by cutting a hole in the deck and dropping down into a generator room that's slowly filling up with fuel from some ruptures pipes. They have to turn off their lightsabers so as not to ignite the fuel. They end up having to swim for it pursued by droids. They eventually climb up through a service hatch, sealing it behind them. After crawling up a narrow service duct they enter the corridor near the elevators. Anakin seals the hatch with his lightsaber moments before the fuel ignites and the generator room blows. 3. There's a few extra bits of dialogue and action during the Count Dooku fight. Just before they start fighting, after Obi-Wan says "You won't get away this time", Dooku says "Just because there are two of you, do not think you have the advantage!". There's also a few more taunts from Dooku during the fight, and part of the final duel between Anakin and Dooku takes place on the conference table in the middle of the room, ending with Dooku cutting the table in two. There's also some more dialogue just before Anakin beheads Dooku. Palpatine - "Good, Anakin, good. I knew you could do it. Now kill him" Dooku - "But you promised amnesty!" Palpatine - "Kill him now!" Anakin - "I shouldn't" Dooku (to Palpatine) - "No, my Lord!" Palpatine - "DO IT!" Anakin then cuts off Dooku's head, in a side view shot that's a bit more graphic. 4. There's a few more scenes with the gravity shifting in the spaceship. As well as the bit in the elevator shaft, there's another scene when they're heading towards the hanger only to find that all the ships are wrecked. The gravity shifts onto the wall and they fall through the doorway into the hanger bay and have to use their grappling lines to climb out. The Hangar force shield fails and ships start to get sucked out into space below them. They just manage to get back through the doorway and seal it as the hangar depressurises. 5. Another gravity shift happens on the bridge after they start fighting Grievous' Magna Guards. It shifts round 180 degrees so that they end up fighting on what was the ceiling, as Grievous uses his clawed feet to stay up on the floor. It shifts back round again, during which time they end up standing on the windows fighting (giving the impression that the window might collapse under the weight of the Droids and Jedi). The gravity then gets back to normal as they rinally confront Grievous. 6. Secret Meeting in Bail Organa's office. After the scene where Palpatine tells Anakin that he will make him his personal representative on the Jedi council, there was a scene in Bail Organa's office with Bail, Mon Mothma, Padme and a couple of other senators. They discuss Palpatine's expanding powers, including his creation of 'regional governors' for each star system. The senate's power is being eroded, here's part of the dialogue... Mon Mothma - "The Chancellor has played the Senators well. They know where the power lies, and will do whatever it takes to share in it. Palpatine has become a dictator, and we helped him do it." Bail Organa - "We Can't sit around debating any longer, we have decided to do what we can to stop it. Senator Mon Mothma and I are putting together an organization..." Padme - "Say no more Senator Organa. I understand. At this point It's better to leave some things unsaid" 7. Extended scene between Anakin and Padme on her veranda, where Padme comments that the baby keeps kicking (calling it a 'he'). Anakin says that he thought she didn't want to told what sex the baby was. He puts his hand to her belly and comments that with a kick like that it must be a girl. This then goes into the scene where Padme comments that they may be on the wrong side. 8. Scene between Obi-Wan and Padme in her apartment where Obi-Wan tells Padme that he is concerned for Anakin, as he has been put in a very difficult situation with the Jedi Council and the Chancellor. Padme asks why Obi-Wan would think that Anakin had talked to her about it, and Obi-Wan reveals that he knows Anakin and her are in love, and that he fears their relationship is confusing Anakin. He also tells her that he won't reveal their relationship to the Jedi council, and that he cares about both of them. 9. Another scene between Padme, Bail, Mon Mothma and some more senators, this time in Padme's apartment. They discuss the situation with Palpatine and also whether or not to involve the Jedi. 10. Scene between Palpatine and Anakin just after Obi-Wan leaves for Utapau to confront General Grievous. Palpatine questions Obi-Wan's suitability for the mission, saying that there are rumors in the senate that Obi-Wan's mind has become 'fogged' by a certain female Senator. Palpatine says he doesn't know who this 'Senator' is, but obviously leads Anakin to believe that Padme and Obi-Wan may be 'seeing each other'. This scene preceeds Anakin's second dream about Padme dying in chilbirth with Obi-Wan present. 11. Padme and several other Senators talk to Palpatine in his office about their concerns about some of his new amendments to the constitution, including the creation of these 'regional governors'. Anakin is present at Palpatine's side. After Padme and her delegation leaves, Palpatine comments that there was more to Padme's request than she told them, and that she's hiding something. Anakin defends her saying that he doesn't sense betrayal in her. Palpatine Says "Yes you do, but you don't seem to want to admit it. There is much conflict in you Anakin". 12. Extended scenes with the pursuit of General Grievous on his wheel bike by Obi-Wan on his giant lizard. There's a whole section inbetween them careering down the outside of the Core ship and going through the tunnel fighting side by side. They chase down the cliff face, before Grievous spins round and heads straight up the vertical wall of the sink hole. Obi-Wan follows, and they end up going round one of the rims halfway up the sink hole, where great wind turbines stick out into the abyss. They fight and jump between these windmills before Grievous heads down a tunnel. 13. After becoming 'Darth Vader' Anakin expresses doubt about killing the Jedi at the temple as Palpatine suggests. Palpatine then shows Anakin a holo- recording of the Jedi meeting where Ki-Adi Mundi says that the Chancellor should be removed from office and Mace agrees before saying that the Jedi would then have to take over the senate. Palpatine ommitts the beginning and end of this conversation so it appears more like a Jedi plot to overthough the Chancellor and the Senate. Anakin is now convinced of the Jedi plot and Palpatine says "Do what must be done, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy..." 14. After 'Order 66' is executed, and Yoda escapes with the help of Tarful and Chewie. They almost get discovered by a Clonetroop search party. Yoda covers himself in mud and twigs and pretends to be some mad little creature eating dead Wookies, before doing the classic Jedi mind trick on the Clone captain so that he thinks that "All these Wookies are dead. Move on to the east". 15. Extended Senate scene. Palpatine expands on the Jedi 'plot'. Bail walks in halfway through and Padme explains whats been happening. Bail then tells her the truth about what happened. Palpatine says that the war is now over. Padme says that this is the moment where we will see if he really intends to return the Rebublic to a democracy. Palpatine announces the creation of the Empire Padme - "So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause!" Bail - "We cannot let this happen..." (he starts to stand up) Padme - "Not now... there will be a time" 16. Obi-Wan approaches the guards in front of the Jedi Temple carrying Yoda wrapped up like a baby in his arms. He says that he's found another Jedi child. The Clone commander asks how he knows that this child is a Jedi, to which Yoda ignites his lightsaber and kills him. They then attack the other clones. 17. Extended scenes in the Obi-Wan / Anakin fight. The fight while balancing on the pipes is longer, with more jumping up onto higher pipes and Obi-Wan almost losing his lightsaber. There's also more fighting swinging from cables on the drifting collection tower. At one point Anakin cuts the cable Obi-Wan is swinging from, but he manages to catch another cable just in time. Also the finale where Obi-Wan cuts Anakin's legs and sword hand off is clearer and more graphic with close-ups of Obi-Wan's lightsaber cutting through anakin's limbs as he somersaults over him. 18. Scene with Yoda meditating on Polis Massa just before Obi-Wan arrives with Padme. Yoda talks with Qui-Gon, who doesn't appear as a ghost but we just hear his voice. Qui-Gon explains the abilty to defy oblivion and commune with the living after passing on. Yoda finishes this conversation by saying "A great Jedi Master you have become. Qui-Gon Jinn. Your apprentice I gratefully become" 19. Scene with Yoda arriving on Dagobah. This is in the final montage inbetween Padme's funeral and Darth Vader's arrival on the bridge of a star destroyer.

This is in the final montage inbetween Padme's funeral and Darth Vader's arrival on the bridge of a star destroyer. i gobbled this post down like a damn pint of ben & jerrys on a lonely friday night.

I would have liked to see Kit Fisto's head on Palpatine's desk like in the novel.
