Can we rename this thread to PITH ON THE SITH!

I finally saw the movie. It was um...better than the other 2. A little bit more cohesive. I'm still thinking abut it. I liked it but I didn't. I'm glad it's over. It would have made much much more sense had the Lord Siths plot had been a bit more forthcoming. I'm still confused about the hate on the Jedi's and who the seperatists were and what they were fighting and who Liea and Luke would eventually become. Nor do they get into if the "empire" was ever considered bad. it's just government, right?

I also have the issue with the acting and the digital effects. But it's over for now...I'll give it that.

not everyone wants the sith pithed on. or pithed off for that matter.

find a better pun which involves a prince lyric or song title (shouldn't be too hard to do), and i'll rename the thread. nod

OK! I mentioned it on the other thread, but we never really discussed it.

Senario.

You have kids or people that have never seen the star wars movies.

Do you show them 1,2,3,4,5,6

or 4,5,6,1,2,3

I think it has to be 4,5,6,1,2,3, yet George Lucas is insisting that 1,2,3,4,5,6 is the way to go.

But then again, George says there will be no ep 7,8,9, and we all know how well he lies.....

So whats the answer and why!?!

Well at the Screening in London of all 6 movies just prior to Episode III
opening, they showed them IV, V, VI, I, II, III. And Lucas was there, so
I'm sure he would've changed it if he hadn't approved.

I enjoyed it (except for CP3O and the dreamy love stuff). At least it explained what I was interested in. Didn't get to see II in theatres but on Videotape. The intro on the tape was excellent it told the whole story of all 6 movies for all those who didn't keep up with it over the years.

I don't think there will be a VII, VIII, or IX, if Lucas says not because I remember after III he did talk about doing the other 3 episodes, but I didn't know he'd take this long doing them.

if only he had made good on his word to only have the droids as the consistent characters.... I'm surprised he didn't make some little boy named han solo appear... jeez.

Nah, having Han Solo appear in Episode III would have been more pointless than Chewie's cameo (not that I minded having the big Wookiee there). If he did appear, a LOT of people would be bitching about how it was dumb that he was even in the movie and should have been left out. I guarantee it.

yeah, i agree about chewie - his role in ep.III was kinda pointless, but also harmless at the same time. i'm very glad han solo wasn't in the movie.

Oh they just had to give the wookies thir moment. I would have done the same...but still rolleyes

They should have shown Chewies sister/wife or whatever that thing was getting killed...so Chewie would have to get revenge. I mean just how did he get involved with that crack pot anyway? And where's his wife? Where are the kids...where are the GOD DAMNED KIDS? mad Huh? Yes Mr Lucas I'm poking holes in yer story.

Didn't he say he left them for his son to do. I'm sure there's no pressure on that one.

Chewie's wife Mala, his son Lumpy, and his father Itchy were all alive and well between Episides 4 and 5, so there's no reasoning for any of them being killed off in Episode 3. They were all probably at home while the battle was somewhere else on the planet Kashyyyk. This was most likely true with all the Wookiee families.

Han Solo freed Chewie from an Imperial ship carrying Wookiee slaves. Hence the life-debt Chewbacca has with Han and anyone who is of Han's family which later extends to Leia, Jacen, Jaina and Anakin (Solo).

Han Solo almost did make it into the movie. He was going to be a young orphan
boy being raised on Kashyyyk by Chewbacca. Luckily Lucas dropped the idea before
shooting began.

I posted this on the other thread, but it merits discussion, so here it is again:

just finished the novel last night, and I LOVED the scene with Yoda and Qui Gonn. That simply MUST be restored to the film when the DVD is released. It explained so much about how Yoda and Obi-Wan learned to fade away into the Force, and how the whole Force ghost thing works.

I also loved how Yoda acknowledged that the reason the Jedi fell was because HE had been too rigid, and hadn't allowed the Jedi to evolve. He tells Obi Wan that they must wait on The Force to let them know when the time is right to begin training the children (which furthers the whole Obi-Wan thinking in terms of Luke, since that is who he is assigned to watch over. The Force indicates when it is time for him to begin Luke's training, so he is never thinking in terms of Leia at all).

Yoda recognizes the dogmatic rules he instilled are what gave the Sith an adavntage, since they had 1000 years to grow and find new ways to use the Jedi's rules against them. Anakin's fall is, at least in part, the fault of the Jedi who refused to see his needs. Qui Gonn had been rebellious, but had Yoda listened to him the Jedi Order would have been prepared for The Sith, and Anakin would have been nurtured the way he should have been. The scene when Yoda humbles himself by bowing and pledging himself to be Qui Gonn's student just gave me chills! I truly hope this scene is restored, since it is downright CRIMINAL that Lucas cut it!
