ORDERING DRUGS FROM CANADA

Many of you know that I take care of my 84yr-old Grandmother, as my parents are deceased. Recently she just became ill and has to take 8 medicines now. I went to pick up her prescriptions and was informed that I have used all off her drug benefit of $600 for the year.

That means I will have to pay FULL price the next time I pick up her medicines. Six of them I can manage to pay for but two of them are going to be a doozy.

The are Plavix a drug to prevent blood clots that cause heart attack and strokes, and Namenda a new memeory drug for mild memeory loss from a number of things.

I checked the prices at the pharmacy here and they are Plavix 75 mg 30 pills $135 a month, Namenda 10mg 60 pills $225 a month.

I have now spoken with a pharmacy in Canada who is also a member of the Better Business Bureau and they qouted me a 3 months supply of Plavix $117, 3 months of Namenda $135. I have written her doctor to ask him to send me written prescriptions so I can order from Canada. These drugs have NO GENERIC!!!!!

Has anybody her or a family member ordered drugs from Canada??? My co-workers parents go 3x a year. What have your experiences been???

Once seniors run out of benefits this year, none are available until Bush releases the new Medicare-Medicaid guidelines for 2006, this includes if they have private insurance like she does as well.

I thought they made that illegal in the US a couple years ago. I've done it in the past with medication for my dogs, but not recently. There is one company that's located on an indian reservation that I believe is exempt from some of the recent changes in US law blocking drugs from Canada.

You have to watch out for a couple things; Bogus drugs that are packaged to look like the real thing (they may be a watered down version of the real thing or 100% fake), or you may receive the drug only to find out it's long past its expiration date.

it's not illegal. the drug companies just don't like it http://www.heydary.com/pu...-laws.html

i think canadians would notice if we were getting "watered down" versions

the laws governing internet pharmacies are the same strict health laws that govern the pharmacy down my street. (it wouldn't be legal for a pharmacy to sell me expired drugs here so it wouldn't be able to sell them to you either)

beware the scare tactics used - but do your homework and make sure you are dealing with a legitimate canadian internet pharmacy and not one that is pretending to be canadian
