What did you like most about being in the service?

1) Friends. I've never had long lasting friends as a kid becuase I was a military bratt and moved alot. When I joined the service I moved alot as well, but thanks to the Internet my friends still keep in touch with me. It has been a blast.
2) Travel : I've been to holland, Frankfurt, Bonn, Hiedelburg, Koblenz, Trier, Paris France, and Haiti. I remember sitting on top of a Mountain overlooking Port O Prince from inside an abandoned house while on a troop patrol and thinking that from high up--even the ugliest things man can conjour up looks prettier.
3) Sex : It was abundant and everywhere.

1) booze culture. Drinking is not officially promoted in the military but it is very much part of the life of servicemen.
2) Working for idiots and not being able to leave.
3) Room Inspections - at least until I made Senior Airman

I didn't know you were in the service- what branch? I'm thinking airforce- you were influenced by "Top Gun!"
