I was 2 and I was at my cousin's house and was jumping off the back of a hide-a -bad onto the mattress part and fell off the back and split my head open and had to go have stitches. I remember it very vividly, being carried up the stairs by an older cousin, them holding me over the sink in the bathroom to wash it out, the operation room, asking for my mom who, I found out later, couldn't take watching me get the stitches and crying and I kept asking for her and my aunt just kept telling me she had to go to the bathroom and I thought that was really weird.
I have a few memories of around that age to about age 4 of playing with my next door neighbor, whom I'm still friends with.
I remember lo9ts of kindergarden very vividly as well. Particularly reading lessons cause I already knew how to read and I hated it. I remember being annoyed having to underline all of the consonants in the word tomato to sound it out cause I already knew what it said. And that the only reading question I ever got wrong the whole year was when I had to circle the picture of the word on the page and it said "lion" and I circled the tiger cause I didn't know the difference between a lion and a tiger. I didn't think it was fair that I got marked down cause I knew it said "lion" and the test was for reading, not animal identification.

I remember standing in the crib with my lil sister (I must have been 2) and chewing on the wood. My dad came in with a fresh donut and gave it to us. I remember being soooo happy (like I get now when I see a donut). After it was gone I remember tasting the sweetness on the wood... drool

Music that I remember: Anything Michael, Earth Wind and Fiyah, Luther, BB king, and Prince. My mom played 'Home' from The Wiz soundtrak a lot too.

Songs I remeber really liking: Kiss, Always (Atlantic Starr), I feel 4 U (Chaka), and Flashlight!!music

I think one of my first memories was crawling in my paternal grandmother's back lawn watching grasshoppers jump around. I was equally frightened and delighted.

Another memory was discovering a mountain of Motown vinyl 45s in the basement. This was one of the first things that I ever remember seeing:

I remember visiting my great grandma in the hospital and it smelled there and was kind of dark. She was having peas with her dinner and let me try some, but I didn't like them. I've only been eating peas again in the last 10 years.

Waking up from a nap in a basket of warm laundry. My mom had the basket for a long time, and it's not very big. I cannot have been older than 2. . . probably more like 1.

It's a nice memory. smile

I can't remember how old I was but I must have been quite little because I have this feeling being in someone's arms and I remember I watched my diapers were drying in our bathroom in my childhood-home. I remember the lamp light was close to my head.

I remember kindergarten too, and the same nonsense about reading. nod I remember my teacher reading Charlotte's Web out loud to the class a chapter or two a day, and by the time she had finished the whole book, I had already finished it on my own and read (also by E.B. White) Stuart Little, and Trumpet of the Swan. . . twice. lol

I was in the playroom of my old house and was looking at a picture book. I think I was on K for kangaroo. I wanted to ask my mom something, and she was out back mowing the lawn, so I opened the sliding glass door and kept yelling at her but the mower was too loud. I was so frustrated that she couldn't hear me.

I have a memory of my grandfather holding me up when I was a baby - I guess I was around 7 or 8 months old.

My grandfather could remember being born. I've never heard of anyone else with a memory going back that far.

It may not be my first but it was definitely distinct. I was about 2 1/2 to 3 years old and my mother and I took a trip on the train to California. 3-4 days travel time from NY to LA.

Anyway, we had a sleeping car and the toilet was under the bottom bunk bed. (Not blue water back then)

However, I remember going to the dining car with my mother and ordered a hamburger with a pickle. Well I ate almost everything except 1/2 the burger and the pickle. So my mother wrapped it up and said she'd keep it for me.

Later that day I asked my mother for the rest of the hamburger and the pickle. She had the hamburger, but the pickle had disappeared. eek She tried to play it off like I didn't remember.

'Till today it's an ongoing joke between us, because she knew she ate my pickle. lol Oh and she told me I couldn't possible remember because I was too young.

PICKLE STEALER mad lol
