MOVEMENT AIMS TO 'FREE KATIE' FROM TOM-ap

A group of Katie Holmes fans are rallying together in the hopes of ending her romance with Tom Cruise -- by donning a range of "Free Katie" merchandise.
Holmes, 26, and 42-year-old Cruise went public with their romance last month, and have since been very open about their affection for one another.

While critics brand the high-profile relationship a publicity stunt, Los Angeles artist and graphic designer Sheila Cameron has created a range of "Free Katie" T-shirts.

Cameron says, "People love Katie Holmes. There's that hope that she's not over in the head."

A posting on the Web site FreeKatie.net reads, "McLaughlin Cameron Designs invites you to join the movement to liberate Katie, a young, gifted, actress held captive by forces we may never understand. Even one summer of captivity is too long for one so bright!

"Don't turn away. Your indifference makes you part of the problem. Talk to your children, join in community support groups and please show your support by wearing your Free Katie Gear!"

But Holmes is refusing to pay attention to the backlash, explaining, "I don't really care what people say. We're so happy and there's so many people that are happy for us and it's great."

i think the guy who was the stunt loaf should make a movie about the org and tom cruise could be the stunt dick for it!

Cruise was once scheduled to play Tony Stark in a movie adaption of Iron Man. I'm glad that's not happening anymore.

But here is the thing that kind of gets me about Katie and Tom. They were both in commited relationships before this. Katie just broke off her engagement to that semi-cormagnin verison of Tom, Chris Klein. And Tom had been "dating" Penalope Cruz, who wishes she was half as hot as Selma Hayak....damn that Selma Hayak....

Anyways. they weren't jumping for joy then, and those seemed like very serious relationships. She damn near married a guy...they were together for years. And that Selma impressnator was his beard for a good long time....just kidding...it wasn't that long. This is also very suspicious, just like the hinting around with Brangelina is. It all seems like a big distraction from actually talking about the movie. In the case of Holmes, it has definately made her a household name.

Excatly, but no people do. If this is a stunt, she getting the better bargin. Yes, she was cast as Batman's girlfriend but as the Batman movies have shown, that's only a one movie deal (I don't see her making a sequel). She is really riding this for all it's worth! Maybe she is in love and it isn't a stunt but a ton more people know her name now AND good scripts will be coming in.
