RENT... prepare to be astounded

http://www.comingsoon.net...hp?id=6204

you know, for the most part, i hate musicals.

but this, this is special.

as a person living with HIV< and to quote the play LIVING WITH, LIVING WITH, LIVING WITH NOT DYING FROM DISEASE, i can't tell you how moving and profound this play was and how much it helped me to prepare for something i didn't know was coming my way when i saw it.

the play is a little clunky in parts, because it's so cinematically written, but the movie promises to be an improvement.

click the link, watch the trailer, make plans for november

Thank you so much for posting the link. I've been waiting years to see a film version of this. I've seen the play 3 times.

It's exciting to see so many of the original cast members. That gives me hope that the movie will be true to the play. Though I'm not too sure about Rosario Dawson as Mimi but I'll try to keep an open mind.

yes. there are esentially 3 couples being openly explored in the movie, a straight couple, a lesbian couple and a gay couple.

I unequivocally adore this show. I wasn't too excited when I heard about a movie, but this trailer just brought shadows of the tears that I've shed every time I've seen the play. Can't wait.

roasrio as mimi is a little odd, but i think daphne ruben vega has just gotten too old.

she looks like she'll be fine

I wish I liked this play more, but I don't really care for it a lot. I think it's because the music doesn't sound like rock music to me. It's Broadway trying to be rock. I like a lot of Broadway shows and own my fair share of cast recordings, but this isn't one of them. Who knows? Maybe the movie will be better than the show was.

it's damn good, one of the few musicals i can stand.

i would suggest going and getting the cd, but it might ruin the suprise of the movie
