I agree that there MUST be other forms of life elsewhere in the universe.

And I also believe that it's best that we don't contact them and that they don't contact us. If WE are the inferior race...then we'll probably wind up as mindless slaves to their evil empire...and if THEY are the inferior race...then they'll end up addicted to tobacco and listening to Britney Spears.

...hey...wait a minute...!

Natisse

We are fairly naive if we think we are the only and most intelligent life in the Universe...

You only have to look at the way we treat life and our planet to see that nod

We may be the only ones. Why not? Mathematical probability? Perhaps, if that's what's really running this bitch, but I don't know. I could easily believe that there's nobody but us. And besides, an unknown civilisation that is gazillions of miles beyond the potential of any human travel is about as existent as a unicorn anyway. As humans we have to scientifically prove and articulate something to 'give' it existence. Mathematical probability is therefore quite close to existence, but I'm not having it.

Aliens maybe encountered remotely, centuries before we can even dream of meeting them physically. The fastest growing technology on Earth is communications. Maybe faster than light travel is not possible, but I think communication can be done at the speed of light. Think of a space station with a large antenna sending signals into space. It could take a hundred years, but soon or later I bet we get a response.

Being that there is a threshhold of pleasure and pain that most humans experience, I wonder if there are alien species who experience a wider array of that.

More pleasure and more pain. It seems that such creatures would be consumed by passions and unable to morally develope becuase they'd be so violent and such. BUt I bet the sex would be fucking hawt.
