Crack House across the street--Advice

I recently moved out of my apartment back home with my parents to save some money, because I just bought a house. It will not be completed until Aug/Sept. So, here's the problem there's these new neighbors who just moved in and I'm 110% sure its a crack house. Just today I witnessed a drug deal go down. The traffic on my parents street has increased significantly(cars come by every 5 minutes or so) Strange character's eveywhere and its 24/7. My problem is I want to get involved, but I don't normally live here, my parents are old and I'm concerned about their safety....What would U do? Any advice? (I posted this here because as we all know Prince Fans are pretty sophisticated and smart)

Report it to your nearest police station, and if you can take down plate numbers.

yup, luv's right.. copy plate numbers.. also, if you can, video enough of it to make your case - have a clock nearby, and move the camera over so you can see how often they are comming by. then go in person to the police station and take the video with you...

it can be a rough thing to do, i had a crack house a few houses down from me, and it took a minute, but i got it done finally.. theres a lot of danger that comes with those houses nod

best wishes, hope it turns out ok.... oh, also, if you can video the peeps that live there, you know, get some shots of their face, that will help identify them as well nod

I thought about that, but my concern is can they find out who reported them? Is it on the report?(I have no clue how this works) All I know is that I want to go over there with my baseball bat and do it Old School Style

no, they do not give the names of who told them about it, if they did, noone would ever report something like that.

if it concerns you that much, then call and ask the police first, it could be that they are already watching the house nod

I started video taping today. The guy just sat in his driveway with a group of crackheads, inventored his stash, rolled a couple of joints for his friends and smoked them, right there in broad daylight. Pissed me off, bigtime.

you have to call the police dept, transfer to the narcotics division secretary to report a suspected crackhouse.

No the police would not endanger your life by giving out your name, etc. But if anything goes to court, you will be called as a witness. Talk to the police about your concerns at least to give you peace of mind.

I have a girlfriend who just started buying real estate in old school neighborhoods so she can fix them up and resell them to young striving black
folks, and she's facing the same problem. Basically she said that the best way to deal with it is to contact the police by "anonymous tip", as, apparently, now they have hotlines for this kind of thing (or any other criminal activity you suspect on your neighborhood)...

but whatever you do, remain inconspicuous. it makes it easier for you to collect the information you need (in relative peace) so you can run those bastards out of there. as much as you want to run over there with a baseball hat in hand, remain focused and "un-embroiled"; it will make it easier for you to use you wits to get them away from there (as well as for mom and pop's safety). back in the old days, you used to have to have a paper trail against people to get them booted into the can, now, with the advent of technology, well you can make things happen alot faster. i mean, if u have them on tape, then great. make sure you keep a copy for yourself, and if things get sticky, rather than take out the bat or the gun, send extra copies to your local newpaper, tv station, mayor's office, and state representative...there's no reason why you should have to fight this battle alone.

i personally .... would agree with alot of what has been said ...

BUT - i would go ahead with some CAUTION ... have a sit down with the police ... maybe they have a narcotics division that is elaborate ... and well aware of the situation ALREADY ... maybe they are imminently gonna get involved .... and u dont even have to do much at all !!?? (thus potentially limiting risk ... ) ... lets face it ...just by what u have said ... the neighborhood puts you and your family at SOME risk ... videotaping -just raised that risk ... not saying this to scare you ... but what if they "catch wind" of your video .... or the cops are in on it in some way ??? (stranger things have been heard of )

if there HAS already been an incident ... with a gun ... etc ... then chances are quite good that the police know alot ... and are gonna do somethin ... maybe not TODAY ...but down the road soon ....

again .. my only point --- was proceed with caution ... do NOT want enemies of this type ... especially psychotic drugged out crazy-enemies ! cool

Let me help. One the police departments move slow and the government even slower. So be careful whatever you do. If you are moving in on DEA, FBI, ATF, etc. territory they maybe going after the supplier. That takes a while. I would call 1 800 WE TIP and report it there. Sometimes the police don't even know that the government is working their territory. Best bet would be to keep Mom in the backyard with her gardening and do not let the folks see you taping or photographing. Do not make any calls to the police from your home. Those numbers are tracked. Go to a phone booth down the block and say that their is someone screaming/domestic violence shit going on in the house. The police have to respond and check folks. A couple of those calls will get the police over there and have the knuckleheads laying low. But the calls have to be at different times. It would be good to do it in the peak of their sales time which would be at night. Try that first off. Just be careful.
