I'm ill. Just been to the doctor and my throat is infected. Couldn't go to my exam of Portuguese today.

I just wish I would be a bit more ill. You know, I haven't been really really ill for six years or something. It just happens rather often I don't feel well. But I'm not severely ill, so no one cares. If I would be puking, coughing, be have a very high fever, it would at least be real, and I would feel glad afterwards to be still alive. And I would have friends coming over and taking care, cooking, carressing me.

But coming back from the doctor, being home alone and to say to myself 'well, he did say I had an infection, and need to take some rest'

That sucks.

That's why I'm bitching here.

Great opportunity to read a good book!

This is one of the three books I took from the library. So it has to be that one. I hope I will like it. Hundred years of Solitude was not my thing, although I recognize he's a good writer.

The other books I took are 'Oranges are not the only fruit' by J. Winterson and a book by Natalia Ginzburg.

Ok, I will give it a try. Never read any Winterson either. Camus I read, but he's the kind of writer I need to read in the original language. And I'm really far too ill to read French right now.

Just finished Narziss and Goldmund. I liked it, although before I wasn't too fond of Hesse easy philosophical romanticism.

I guess I need a break indeed. I've written 70 pages in the last two weeks. Now this is finished, and this shit happens. The stupid thing is that I feel really guilty for not taking this Portuguese exam today. A voice inside is still telling me 'go on, don't be silly, plenty of things to do'.
