Songs for the runway; a celebration. I'm arranging songs for a production/celebration type gala. I'm brainstorming to find songs that fit the occasion, attitude and mood. Can you name some songs that have some or all of the spirit of:
-the act of dressing up and going out -looking and feeling gorgeous -haughty kiss-my-ass attitude -anything with tons of attitude -being a diva/queen -dancing, partying, celebrating -being badass, bitchy or sinful -craving attention from the public -a dash of friendship, I suppose Examples... Lucy Pearl - Dance Tonight Hot Chocolate - I Believe in Miracles (where you from? you sexy thing!) Queen - Killer Queen Madonna - Vogue Carmen McCrae - Whatever Lola Wants Chicago Musical - All That Jazz Prince - You Got the Look (is that just there because I like Prince?) Peel Me a Grape (forgot the artist name) Rod Stewart - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? Marilyn Monroe - Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend The Pretenders - Brass in Pocket I'm trying to stay away from anything very obvious and cliche like "I'm Too Sexy" or RuPaul's "Supermodel." I volunteered for doing this thinking it would be easy, but my mind has gone blank. Got any ideas? Suggestions from various genres welcome. | |
