Wacko Russell Crowe Strikes Again Jun 6, 7:32 AM (ET)
NEW YORK (AP) - The actor Russell Crowe was arrested Monday morning for allegedly throwing a telephone at an employee of the Manhattan hotel where he was staying, police said. Crowe, 41, who plays a boxer in his latest film "Cinderella Man," allegedly threw the phone at the Mercer Hotel employee, striking him in the face, during an argument at around 4:20 a.m., said police spokesman Sgt. Mike Wysokowski. The Australian movie star was arrested and charged by police with second degree assault, Wysokowski said. Crowe was expected to appear in Manhattan Criminal Court later on Monday. An employee who answered the phone at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo said he was unaware of the incident. I think it might have been that he exploded because it didn't do to well (considers the very postive reviews)...this probably won't help (it was kind of promoted as a grower, and audiences would come in throught the summer but they still expected a better opening). And on a somewhat related topic, Kelly Osbourne reenters rehab right before her new CD comes into stores. Celebrties are crazy! | |

He was in the UK at the weekend watching a boxing match ... Hatton v Tszyu (anyone see it?) ... they interveiwed him, and I was thinking at the time 'I wonder if he's less of a lunatic these days ... not heard anything in the press about him getting in trouble recently'
