LEARNING LIFE LESSONS...

I'm slowly beginning to learn some important lessons in life...and having big talks over the weekend with two close friends of mine has really opened up my eyes to some things nod

What important "Life Lessons" have you gradually been realising lately? hmmm

I've learnt dat there is nothing wrong with what i want in anything!! If i place myself on da side of subjectivityz...i will forever think there is somethin wrong with any aspiration or journey or goal i have in mind. But bein truly centred in onez self and realising dat what I want is important and countz no matter what anyone thinkz or sayz- is like da biggest epiphany i have encountered!! It'z very liberating!!

Lotz more learning 2 do...as dat is da nature of da beast we call life...but i love beastz nod

hug for you Tisse!!

exactly. I think I want to move to another continent right now
rather than apply what I've learned in the environment I'm in.

smile

Seriously, I'm giving it some thought. Even looked into it a bit

more lately. Just want to pack up and move to Canada nod nod

Freespirit

It's been years of learning and not only learning... but being aware of the lessons learned.

I have been aware most of my life, I was such an observant child. I began to make some major decisions/changes to alter my life and the path I was on... I remember at the age of 17. I am 34 now.

17 years since that time... yes, it has been very gradual. Life lessons and change do not happen overnight and for the most part one must make that choice to be connected with the realness/wholeness of what you want to alter within yourself (believe). And one morning (for the most part) you simply don't wake and everything is clear and bright, especially if there are things that haunt you. I believe you must first become aware, make the choice and become committed to the change... for the rest of your life.

I agree, but as they say, (the almighty "they" who are these assholes?) wherever you go, there you are...

These last five years have been one long life lesson for me...and I'm feeling it's time to apply them and grow the fuck up...but I like what Joseph Campbell had to say about this. He took five years of just reading, everything from the Gospels, and Freudian psychology and buddhist and hindu texts and hundreds of fiction novels to finally be able to form a personal philosophy but when he did it was all one big party until he died...follow your bliss...

i've learned there is no use talking to someone who doesn't want to hear.

i've learned being happy is a choice I need to make every day, and it's not always an easy one.

i've learned being with people who don't want to be happy is not good for my soul.

i've learned reading between the lines may save my soul, and bruise someone else's.

i've learned some people ask for advice when they really want a hug.

And that was all in the last 48 hours! Actually, I've known all of those things since long, long ago.
But this weekend I was reminded.
And that's a good thing.

That life ...The World owes no one anything

That Life isn't "Just"

To TRY and be who you are ...and not what others want you to be

That it's Ok to be wrong now and again

To value friendship

That there is good in everyone

To Laugh as well as cry

(and there's probably more)

Lately I've learnt that no matter how careful or how respectable you are in life, events that are out of your control will happen, sometimes very unjustly. Hope and perseverence is a powerful force that keeps spirits high in the worst of times. If you're wronged or feel down, always maintain the hope that justice and good will reign supreme.
