At this point I can bascailly say I haven't yet had a career. Only jobs.

To me, a career helps define who you are as a person. (I'm a doctor, I'm an attorney, I'm a professional party planner, etc...) None of the jobs I've held have fit that description. When meeting people for the first time, I never talk about my job unless asked, and even then I usually tell people the barest minimum and explain that my job is the least interesting thing about me.

We'll see what the future holds, however.

I've loved music ever since I can remember anything, but my education is science/math based.
Luckily, i've had a career in technical support for the audio/recording industry and a simultaneous secondary career/hobby as a musician my whole life.

I believe i've been very fortunate to work in fields that I have a passion for.

i do look forward to the next stage in my nonprofit life - the word "freelance" has a beautiful ring to it, doesn't it!? biggrin

I don't refer to any of them as careers really, as someone else mentioned above.

Majored in art, somehow got into web design/development on my own. Now with the company I'm at, even though my initial job was building and maintaining the site, I'm now just overseeing others working on it, and spend most of my time working with SEO, and advertising.

All that I have done has been critical and crucial... to where I am now. Beautifully strange how it all comes together. Patience, strong belief and hard work.

I have spent all my working years (after high school, a total of 14 years so far) with both children (teaching) and the medical environment. Now it all fits together.

After my graduation about 4 years ago, I basically have had one employer and I work here still. First 1,5 years of Technical and Functional support for our bookeeping software. Then 1,5 years in Sales-Marketing as Marketing Staff and now I recently shifted into Product Marketing since January. smile
