My dad bought me a jar of mayonnaise

He didn't take off the price sticker - it cost $9.50! That's a lot for mayonnaise! It's a weird thing for him to buy me:-?

Fauxie

Was it gourmet mayonnaise or something?

I like the mustard ones with herbs and stuff in.

The alleged porn! No, nothing to do with it. redface

It is however, Chili, Lime and Coriander, I'm having some now with my chicken for lunch, it is very yummy actually nod

My dad has never really been one for choosing a gift for someone, so I am ashamed to say I found it difficult to just be grateful instead of wondering "did he give it to me because he didn't like it"?

there's a swanky supermarket here in chicago that has all kinds of gifty food items that cost tons of money, and everything in that store down to the produce would make for awesome gifts. i mean, what the hell - people like nice things, and people eat. get 'em fancy schmancy groceries! nod

I think it's kind of sweet. He's so clueless about what to give you that he grabs the first overpriced item he can find just to give you something "fancy". lol

Just go along with it. The next time you might get a top quality plunger or something. Not too shabby.

biggrin I hope that's it. I did call him to tell him how much I'm enjoying it, it's great with a steak or grilled chicken. He might indeed be mellowing in his old age, now he's retired he's got time to think about the niceties of life, like gift-giving, which my mum has always done before (she always bought her own birthday presents before eek )
