Bringing The Force Into Balance There is the most infuriating debate (and pointless one at that) going on over at another website about The Force being brought into balance in Star Wars.
I find it amusing that it bothers me so much but,for some unknown reason, it does.....people can't seem to understand that 'Bringing teh force back into balance' in terms of the films DOESNT mean 2 Jedi, 2 Sith. These peopel dont seem to have ever used the word 'balance' for anything else than to describe something when they are counting on their fingers!!! Has nobody ever hjeard of "I must find the right BALANCE between this and that" (recipies for example) or teh balance point of soemthing (centre of gravity).. So in Conclusion...Balancing teh Force simply means calming it....egtting rid of the turmoil that the Sith brought The End

[Edited 6/3/05 23:34pm] Yes. Im a fairly big Star Wars fan...not huge and certainly not a psycho one...but it frustrates me that people have to argue this stupid point when it wuite clearly isnt true. For those that don't know - Anakin Skywalker (who becoems Darth Vader) is apparently The Chosen One...who will bring balance to the Force. At the end of the new film there are 2 Sith (bad guys) and 2 Jedi (good guys)...everybody thinks that means there is balance. Trouble is it doesnt mean equal numbers on either side...people cant get that. Anakin does eventually bring balance to teh Force by killing the emperor in Return of the Jedi.....at this point the galaxy is no longer ruled by evil, the sith are extinct and arent 'bossing' people around and calm is returned....BALANCE!!!! Why the fuck does anyone give two shits about 'balance' in some sci-fi films?
i think the only thing that needs 'balance' is George Lucas's enormous flap of skin beneath his chin, which wobbles uncontrollably when he talks.

You're right....lets just talk about Prince!!! It was only a meaningless film anyway..it has no impact in the world of cinema, Im sure it will all blow over soon.

No , Anakin was the chosen one....its just it took the prophecy 20 odd years to come to fruition....when he Vader turns on the Emperor in Return of the Jedi is when the prophecy is fulfilled and Anakin brings balance to the Force. The trouble is the people arguing over when Balance was brought seem to be stuck on the idea that 'balancing the force' must mean equal numbers on each side.....which quite obviously it doesnt

People are arguing that its Sith Vs Jedi but it isnt - balance doesnt necessarily mean equal numbers on either side it just means the right balance. Think of teh Force as a pie....if you had equal amounts of crust and filling you'd be miffed...the right balance makes the perfect pie
