lol Funny thing happened at work today: The ladies in the office all got together for a meeting regarding the dress code in the office and what was considered appropriate and not appropriate attire. The owner (a woman) mentioned flip flops and said something to the effect of, "They're not professional, and I don't want to see them." Had to bite my tongue in order not to start laughing, because it reminded me of this thread, and some of the comments people made on it. Just had to share. giggle
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

This is my first year wearing these flip flops. I had to wear them down so they wouldn't be so slippery.....I also make sure my feet are done and cute before going anywhere in my flip flops....

Flip flops were one of my trauma's, until last year.

I loved them as a kid but they didn't fit. I have very small feet, and if I found a pair that looked ok, they hurted like hell after ten minutes. So I decided I hated those shoes.

Until I fell in love with a pair in Portugal last year. The picture is a seductive Chinese woman sitting under a tree. I love her, and wear her twice. lol And they fit perfectly well.

But I do agree those shoes are rather dangerous.

I've seen people wearing them on the subway here in NYC which I totally don't uunderstand. Feet shouldn't be exposed to all those dirty rodent subway germs. I'm with Anx, there should be a law against wearing them in public.

But I wear boots 365 days a year so pay no attention to what I think. smile

I think flip flops just naturally stir up dust and germs wherever you walk. Those germs are bound to jump on your feet at some point.

I especially hate all the fucking noise people make walking in them. Sandals are a little more safe they come with more support and strappys to help you from having crusty dirty banged up out the wazooo feet. Alost may prevent severe flip flop accidents from happening. They aren't as noisey either because that don't flap and smack and drag OH THE HUMANITY !

Funny side note...
I was just at the DMV and this girl walked in wearing a sun dress and flip flops. I heard her tell the clerk she lost the license plates they just gave her 2 days ago. The woman told her she had to go to a different office, appx 20 miles away, to get them reissued. She walked out of the place in a snit and she was flapping those flip flops the whole way out the door and it was hilarious.
Don't try to walk off all attitude with those things on! If you're going to have a piss fit and stomp off, wear CLOGS. Those get the point across.
