My Dad was just telling me about a nasty fall he took last night. He landed on the back of his head, big gash, lots of blood, very swollen (of course he doesn't go to the hospital or anything....) and the cause of it all ?
His bastard flip flops. (not sure what they are called internationally, but you know what I mean, those flippy floppy summer shoes with no traction whatsoever)

I myself took a fall in some 6 years ago and ended up in the flowerbed with a torn knee ligament.

Once I was walking down the boardwalk of our local beach and ended up in an unintended split in front of the whole crowd - again, with f*ing flip flops on.

few things gross me out more than the sound of sweaty feet FLUP FLUP FLUPPING against the dirty rubber sole of a flip flop.

there's no sexy or graceful way to wear these things in public.

the offices i've worked at in new york and chicago have always had very specific rules against flip flops in the employee manuals. i remember one job even sent around an e-mail reminding staff never to come to work with flip-flops. love that!

I have on flip flops right now, and I'm at work. Of course it's almost 7:00 p.m. and well beyond regular work hours.

I don't usually wear them to work, and if I do, it's only on Friday. My heely sandals have done their 8 hours.

I wear them to the pool and beach and my feet are beautiful and well cared for! I can pull off my socks and shoes anytime and not be embrassed by the condition of my feet.
