Unless that's the word "Elled" which in Hebrew means "I will give birth" It's one of the the 72 names of God, used for protection from the evil eye. The letters are, from R-L Aleph Lamed Daled. noituloveryxesevolasildnaydnew

No, I meant Daled. In reading different Kabbalistic texts, I see there are variances in spellings of the Hebrew letters. Heck, even Kabbalah is speeled different ways. Anyway, I learned the 72 Names through the Kabbalah Centre www.72.com, and that is the spelling they use. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

It didn't say much, so I'll know more next week, if I remember to ask. And it's still Dalet I don't know who spelled it with D at the end, but it's definitely Dalet. Many people will pronouce it with D, maybe it rubbed on too much.

Yeah, I've got another book that uses Daleth. I think in translations from different languages, they morph. No big deal. I'll stick with The Kabbalah Centre. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

Well, since Hebrew IS my language, and Dalet is what's used today. I do know that God's name 'Eled' does come from the word 'birth'. At least that's the reference that I've seen.

I'm trying to find a list of all the Kabbalah Centre spellings so you can tell me if they use any other irregular spellings! Debating over the spelling on one LETTER makes it easy to see how the same religious texts can be interpreted in many different ways, huh? http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

It's pretty arbitray how you "spell" a Hebrew word in English (or any other language that has a different alphabet in English).
It's called "transliteration" where you phonetically "spell" how to pronounce words in a language using a different alphabet. I've always thought it sounded more like "Daled" myself though.
