Anyone here NOT see Star Wars?

I haven't...yet...I suppose. I think the only reason I am going to see this is to finish it out. I'm not really a fan, but I feel obligated to see it through.

Sort of the same way with Lord of the Rings, which I liked, but probably will never see again, unless I'm in a vegetable state and can do nothing about it (though they better spare me the 23 endings).

I haven't and I won't. Saw the first three as a kid and then when the first one was re-released I went to see it again. It bore me to death and I left early. The geek content for this shit is way too high for me, so I never went to see the other ones and honestly I'm wondering when this crap will stop. Isn't it getting a bit old now?

i haven't seen 'return of the kings' - but i'm just not a big tolkien fan. where i'm concerned, ya seen one big battle on a field with a bunch of bloody horses, ya seen 'em all - but i intend on sitting through it one day, just to finish 'em all.

The first one was the best. The other two were a disappointment. The last one was just plain bad.

then do yourself a favor and rent it on DVD. it's a return to form. i loathed the first two prequels - LOATHED them - and episode III has kicked my ass twice...and i wanna go back for thirds. don't take my word for it, though. when you can rent it for cheep and don't have anything better to do, give it a go. it actually puts the other two crapfests into some kind of perspective to where they have some kind of purpose.

Stop the DVD at ending number 2.

You can thank me later.

If you loathed them, why on earth did you see the 3rd? I thought they were ok at best with the last one better than the first. If I loathed them, I wouldn't be seeing this last one...when I eventually do.

seriously? because i heard good things. and i heard good things from sources that were sour on the other movies. and because i thought it would be more of a feat to make the creation of darth vader suck than it would be to make it amazing. and because ian macdermid (sp?) is one of my favorite things about the star wars movies, and i knew he'd be all over it with his nasty ass teeth. and because i kept hearing how dark and bleak and tragic this movie was supposed to be, and i wanted to see if ol' uncle george would wuss out and throw in some damn ewoks or gay mudskippers or whatever, and i was pleased to see that he didn't. but mostly, because i'm one of those kajillions of gen-x-ers who saw the first movie as a little kid and have since become powerless to those damn movies.

OK I can see that. But it sounds as more that you wanted to see it through too. Maybe not if you heard it sucked...which I can't see how it could, considering.

Haven't seen it. Trying to find the motivation to go watch it. I'm kinda in an anti-hollywood mood right now. I'll get around to seeing it sometime.
