He was a little baby in the first episodes and he had a big sister named Judy and they were Laura's cousin. They got rid of Judy and Little Richie was replaced with a boy instead of a baby. Later on in the show they jumped the shark by bringing in 3J. 3J was little Richies buddie who moved into the Winslow home. Full house also Jumped. When Michelle was getting too big for her britches they brought in the twin boys Nicky and Alex. With that being said, it made me wonder...with all these TV shows going on DVD season by season, why hasn't anyone put the Cosby Show on DVD? The best show ever shown on TV...Don't they know it would make a killing in sales? Am I the only one that thinks it? Bill may be blocking it himself as he's making a KILLING in syndication! Whap!! When the show first started, there were indeed only 4 kids. They mentioned more than once the troubles of raising 4 perfect brats. Sandra was, I believe, manufactured some time during the second or third season. And Rudy is one of the cutest kids on TV ever! Then once she started growing out of her "cute" years (she's still beautiful, but she ain't a kid anymore), they replaced her with that precocious brat child of Denise's. I am looking forward to this show's release on DVD this summer and - even more exciting for me - the release of the first season of Roseanne on DVD shortly thereafter. [Edited 6/1/05 20:36pm] | |

Interesting facts little know about The Cosby Show:
NOTE: Before the series started, Cliff was supposed to be a limousine driver and Clair a plumber. * The opening credits for the first season feature the family playing sports in the park. * Bill Cosby once said that the show mirrored his own life, because he had a wife and five kids: four daughters and one son. * The house the Huxtables lived in was very different. The kitchen has different counters, shelves and cabinets. Also, when Cliff and Clair are up in the bedroom, the bedding, headboard and furniture are different. The editors wanted to change it because Clair was a housewife instead of a lawyer. Also, the producers decided to use a cheap house because if the series didn't work out, they didn't want to spend money on a brownstone that would only be used for a pilot. * This episode won the Emmy for Best Writing in a Comedy. In addition, Jay Sandrich won a Directors Guild of America Award. * The Huxtable house was very different in this episode than in the rest of the show, but the same living room set is used. * According to the E! True Hollywood Story, the character of Rudy was originally supposed to be a boy. However, when producers couldn't find the right child actor, they opened the auditions to girls and then found Keshia Knight Pulliam and hired her to play Rudy. * In the establishing shot, the sign outside the Huxtable home reads "Clifford Huxtable, M.D." In later episodes, Cliff is referred to as "Heathcliff" on numerous occasions. * Vanessa refers to Theo as "Teddy" several times in this episode. * When a harried Clair asks Cliff why they have four children, he responds, "Because we did not want five." However, the character of eldest daughter Sondra was introduced a few episodes later. * This is probably the only episode in which Cliff or Clair or any of the kids swear. Cliff says, "Damn right" when talking to Theo about his grades. This and Looking Back (2) when they flash back to Theo and his grades are about the only times the Huxtables were caught swearing. * The debut of The Cosby Show, in part because of Cliff's heart-to-heart with Theo, was named #70 on TV Guide/TV Land's "100 Most Memorable TV Moments" in December 2004.
