Comics! I know there's another comic thread somewhere, but I thought this might deserve one on its own...
What are your favorite comics? I searched a little and as far as I can see "The Dark Knight Returns" and "The Watchmen" seem to be the main contender for best comic, so I might try to get those. Anything else?

"Transmetropolitan" by Warren Ellis and Darrick Robertson. It was a 60-issue series about a dystopian future and an insane journalist hero who's a cross between Hunter S. Thompson and William Burroughs. AMAZING writing, very funny stuff.

If your willing to spend a little money get this one:
It's the entire Palomar storyline from the 'Love And Rockets' series by Gilbert Hernandez. It's also available in seperate softcover editions at a cheaper price. It's the story of a Mexican family (Luba, her siblings and multiple children) that spans probably 50 years. A very, very good read.

The Hernandez Bros never really liked Love And Rockets, the band. They said it would be great if a band named after their book was either really good or really bad, but the band was neither. Very boring according to them.

Then there is the 'Strangers In Paradise' series which have been recently collected in affordable pocket-size editions:
It's the story of three best friends and their love triangle. I always meant to send the creator, Terry Moore a Wendy And Lisa tape, because to me they would be the perfect soundtrack.

Does the red x on the cover have any deeper meaning?
