I think they are...but I think they are supposed to be...I like 'em! I turn on the AMC channel...ever now and again...especially for Cary Grant, Bette Davis, Jean Harlow, Spencer Tracy...etc.

I c all ur points. The thing that bugs me is the women in general. They are too melodramatic alot of the time. And cry alot? Sign of the times LOL.

Its bullshit that golden age tripe. It sure was a good time for movies. Why wouldn't it be? The talkie was still in its infacy in movie years (10-20 years, as computer games are now). But there was so much more being made back then. Sooooo much crap and average crap came out. All them movies have dated. But it doesn't mean they are not good though. The scores are too samey and intrusive at times. Also no swearing, no sequels and no proper action scenes are in those movies.







One of my all time fav movies is "gone with the wind". Now thats a cliche right there.

THe most annoying thing in those movies is how week the female characters are most of the time.

I saw the original War of the Worlds, and it seems like women were primarily placed in the movie to scream and wait to be rescued.

You won't find a lick of science or originality in current SF films. Today they're more about mindless effects than anything else: case in point - The Chronicles of Riddick.
