 never in a million years did I think someone would start a thread on him. He was a cutie. I remember rootin' for him back then. He didn't win as many medals as everyone expected. They overhyped him so bad during those olympics, but you know with him being a speed skater you really would hear too much out of him anyway other than the Olympics.

South Korea was pissed when he won, because their top skater was disqualified. That was like the big controversy during those Olympics. There was even a poll in South Korea after that happened....he was voted most hated person ever because of that incident. I had never heard of him until they did the Olympic Opening ceremony back then and they kept goin' on and on about him. So I was like, ok who is this Apolo Anton Ohno and when they interviewed him.....I was in love. You remember when he got hurt and still won the silver....there was a big pile up and a bunch of skaters fell after one clipped Apolo. He had to scuffle his way to the finish to get 2nd place. He would've had first if that other skater didn't bump him.

Every Olympics there's always something, like the Canadian figure skaters who were robbed of a gold after some judges fixed the competetition. I think this was at the most recent Olympics.
