I am a Traffic Producer. This job entails listening to police scanners, monitoring the roadway cameras and various info sources and writing/reporting road conditions, etc. When I took this position I never thought that it could be stress inducing. But it is. I have witnessed car accidents via the monitors. It's hard when you are looking at the scene of an accident and you can do nothing to help. I may be miles away (sometimes even a state away), tucked safely in my office, reporting on these horrible events. Today two children were thrown from a van before it overturned. One adult was confirmed dead before the call for help was received. I burst into tears when I heard the call. I feel so helpless. Now I keep envisioning the scene in my head. Awhile ago I witnessed a vehicle fly off of one highway and land, upside down, on another highway. Amazingly no one was killed in that accident and the ejected passenger was moved to safety by pedestrian. That entire scene was cleaned up in about 20 minutes.
I can't even imagine the stress that rescue workers or 911 operators must feel.
The only way I can help in this position is to accurately and timely write and report any traffic hazards and hope that people will heed any advice or warning I may give. So, please be careful out there (sorry to go all Hill Street Blues on ya) on the roads this holiday weekend and beyond. Please be responsible. Even if you're driving alone you're carrying precious cargo.

there was a story told from a woman who had a 'near death' experience=she had a horrible car accident, she recalls her Spirit rising out of her body, out of the car & moving past the traffice behind her...she heard people cussin' & fussin' about their time/program being messed up, of all the places they were N such a hurry 2 go....the woman's sad Spirit went past several vehicles with this kind of energy until it paused 2 C a great Light surging skyward = a lady was sitting N her car praying, "God, please help the people in that accident, help them Lord!" the woman says a Calm came over her Spirit, she returned 2 her Body & lives 2 tell the story.... share it here 2 illustrate the power of earnest prayer, good thoughts & intent can heal & packs a serious punch 4 all who choose 2 embrace the ever present Light of God's powerful LOVE!!!

sooo my Friend, not that it feels any easier butt U Being who U R = God has placed U there with purpose (as He does all of us) so use some of your power 2 send a prayerful Blessing 2 those whose pain is brought B4 U...4 B, it helps when speak 2 God direct (pray) the moment my attention is drawn & it brings Understanding more & more as the journey unfolds

It's not so bad that I must leave, just venting here I suppose. And really I just want people to be concious and cautious drivers. Sometimes we go into "trance" driving or get laxed on the road. Just try to be in the moment and aware when operating a vehicle, or in life in general I guess. AND DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE FOLKS.

I saw this. We are a peaceful people. The calmest on the Org. Well there is the one incident that occured in General forum where it was shut down for a long period of time. ( I don't know this personally... only from old timers like 2the9's.) Other then that it is warm and toasty here. Do take csre if you venture into P&R forum. I recomMend you use the buddy system for this. Why I went in there once and was stuck there for 2 days.

Thanx for the warning. Don't think I'll go there.

Someone has to do it, for the sake of all of us, and I admire you for it and am grateful that you're doing it.
