I'm on a butterfly kick lately...

my class has been raising butterflies the past few weeks, but they are all hatched and ready to be set free. We are going to release them tomorrow. I know some of my students will cry, I'm going to feel a little bad too.

So post something, a poem, song, photo,in honor of these strange amazing beautiful creatures!

Butterflies make me hungry.

I actually like butterflies, but for some reason, I'm afraid of picking them up... my dad would always catch them when I was a kid, but I would rarely do it on my own because they kinda creeped me out. It creeps me out when they land on me too. They are pretty though.

I like butterflies in my stomach.

...and no, I don't mean eating them.

how do you raise butterflies??? in a big terrarium? with lots of sugar water? and hope that they make babies???

In this big net cage thing...started out as eggs in a jar though. We feed them organge slices.
