How can you tell if... ...you are addicted to something? Are you in denial of something you are addicted to? How can you know? Have you ever examined yourself and your addiction in light of others and theirs?

I've thought about this too because I have a very addictive personality...once I get "into" something it's a passion
it'll be interesting to see what everyone says about this...

Ex-Moderator | For me, addiciton comes down to something now becoming a 'basic need'. For example, if you're sitting in a meeting at work and you HAVE to pee, you can't concentrate on anything, cause all you can think about is how you have to pee until you get up and leave and pee. If that's how you feel about anything besides normal basic bodily needs (food, sleep, water, etc.) it's pretty much become an addiction. |

I see addiction as something that even though you know is bad for you, you keep doing it. or if that addiction makes you give up other more important things, just so you could still continue with your addiction.

All I know is that if there's food in front of me I'm going to eat it. It doesn't matter if I ate seconds before and I was full. I'd still eat it. That's my addiction.

i used to think i did smack in my sleep or something, because i'd feel so weird during the day and do such stupid things, the only thing i could guess was that i had a secret double life that happened while i was asleep and that i spent all night doing drugs.
as it turned out, that wasn't the case. i'm just dumb.
