But seriously, who gives a fuck what someone does with their spare time. Some watch TV, others are online and some read a book or write some crappy poetry. I don't care as long as they don't bother me.

Not in this case, however. I have told people that they need to take care of their "real" life instead of being online constantly. It's not healthy, and anyone who argues that it's ok to spend day after day, hour after hour on this website has their head straight up their ass.

That doesn't mean that I'm online all the time. I'm online for maybe 2 hours per day. That is a fairly normal amount of time, the rest of the time I take care of business. I have obligations in my world that take priority. I don't have the time to sit for hours talking to people on the Internet. Your argument may fit some people, but not me.

And if anyone is offended by what I just wrote, you will have to wait for my response, because I have to leave to take care of my "life".

What do you mean, "what else"? mad Aren't we enough for you?!

razz

Seriously, don't let the fools sweat you.

People have a variety of reasons for posting online. Online interaction is real. Don't listen to bitter cunts who are always telling people what they "need" to be doing, what's "normal," etc., whether online or offline. They will always be scolds no matter what.

What's sadder? Posting in an online comunity and interacting in a productive way with other human beings? Or logging on to a website just to point out how other people fail to see your superiority and saying over and over how much time you have for "real life"? nuts

I think jersey makes a good point with this thread.

It's born of insecurity that people feel the need to justify their time on-line, they obviously feel guilty about or something. I'm here to pass the time when I'm too damned tired to do much else.

I guess this was directed at me....

Come on, man. Spending too much time here indicates an addictive and unproductive behavior pattern. Justify it any way you want. Sure, it's great making friends with anonymous people, but I'd bet it means much more when you actually MEET them in the "real world", right? I'm not a "bitter cunt" or superior to anyone (well, maybe a few).....just pointing out a fact you disagree with because you're one of those that spends all his time here.

Do what you want. I just don't agree. Is that ok with you?
