I liked what the commentater said at the end of 90 minutes in the Liverpool game...it went...
"This is a game we're never going to forget...and the thing we're going to remember it for is still yet to happen....

That was unreal.
I'm just glad there is a team who are bigger chokers than Celtic. And for my man Senik, who will not be within a million miles of the org just now, I'm glad for yous! Danny, will we ever win it again? “If I can shoot rabbits/then I can shoot fascists”

Fantastic, and fully deserved. It was an amazing game and finished here around 5am. I tried to sleep after that but all the nerves and everything during game made that impossible. I cried actually. When Dudek saved the last penalty it was such a cathartic moment. They've been great in the Champions League and are deserved winners. This turns a mediocre to poor season into a great one that'll go down in history. Let's just hope Gerrard stays now.

I don't think anyone would have said Milan didn't deserve to win if they would have won on penalty kicks. They scored just as many times in regular time and actually dominated 90 out of 120 minutes. I'm not saying Liverpool didn't deserve to win. After all, Milan gave it away in 10 minutes, but other than the first 20 minutes of the second half I wasn't impressed by Liverpool at all. Good for them though, anything is better than Chelsea getting their hands on the cup.

I know what you're saying, but it takes something special to score those same 3 goals when you're starting from 3 goals down. I think Liverpool were the sentimental choice, and that of many neutrals due to our fantastic history and through being the underdogs. There's no doubt there was a degree of luck involved, as there has been throughout much of the tournament, but I think for sheer strength of will they shaded it. Milan simply should never have let us get back into it, but they shook when the second goal went in and the rest is history. Liverpool were clearly spent in the ET periods and were settling for penalties, where undoubtedly they performed better than Milan. I agree about Chelsea. They couldn't buy the biggest trophy of them all.

as being a fan of this soccer club for almost 30 years...yes i have seen liverpool picking up this trophy 5 times... and they're the best english soccer club to have played in european soccer.
tonight's win is an incredible feeling for me and it will be remembered by alot of liverpool fans with years to come and it has proved everyone wrong from the begining that they would not win this competition in this season.

(maybe just maybe the fans started thinking it could be their year when the started getting lucky !!!), i aint a chelsea fan ,... but both games were 0.0 and l'pool were awarded an imaginary goal !!! in the semi !!

British Football commentators really are a whole genre of comedy all on their own, aren't they? In Wolverhampton, the local station The Wolf has a regular boast about their coverage of Wolves games: "We are the only station to bring you complete coverage of every single Wolves game, and we do it BETTER" Better than who? You just said no one esle does it...!?!?!?

The champs always need a little luck. It's often that which separates the winner from the loser. I think it's fair to say that any team that fights back from 3-0 down deserves to win the trophy. Besides, the Chelsea thing is a mute point. It's either a goal or a penalty and possible sending off of a goalkeeper with nobody on the bench to replace him. ... [Edited 5/26/05 5:01am]
