Where are you going on holiday this summer?

Since the org is so incredibly slow and lazy right now that it is almost not moving at all, it made me think of holiday season. I took the picture below a couple of days ago and it really made me want to take off and see the world. Has anybody planned a summer vacation yet? Where are you going and why?

I'm actually aiming for Japan this fall. Maybe your grandma can make me some cookies. smile

The photo is taken from the ground, yes. The plane is just about to land but I tried to find an angle to make it look like it was just cruising. There were lots of people sitting on blankets near the airport just to watch the planes come in. Probably an activity sponsored by the chiropractors' association. confused

They give you a sense of freedom, that's for sure. And I always feel so calm when I'm waiting for my flight. If I'm just sitting at home on a chair I know that I could remain there forever if I don't lift my butt, whereas if I'm at an airport I know I'll be going somewhere really darn soon. It brings peace to my mind that way.

Great shot, and the clouds aiding as a natural background, I love.

I don't plan too much in advance, if I feel like going... I simply go. I can usually find affordable rates to fly. If it is in a nearby state... I love to drive.

Living up to your org name, eh? wink

I love driving too. I'm actually leaving the city this Saturday to go on a road trip to the Rockies. We are bringing a sturdy tent and lots of blankets just in case, but other than that we have made no preparations for the coming nine days. We're just going to go where we feel like going each day. Luckily, both me and my friend like it that way. Having someone along who gets stressed out by lack of planning would probably make us all stressed out.

I hear you, I just ventured into the Grand Canyon... a trip that takes a year to reserve due to camping permits along with the limited amount of people able to camp each night. I made my decision to go just three weeks prior to the actual hiking day.

The one thing I did not purchase was a tent... I lost my previous tent after lending it to some friends. A Dietitian that I have known invited me to sleep in her tent... hmm I said, ok, one less thing to purchase. (I will be sure to buy one soon) She was such a stress case, everything had it's order... and everything had to fit "what the general society would do", goodness... it is good to be me. ~Smile.

Have a great trip!

As usual, I will be visiting my parents. Colombia is next on my list. Mother has been living there since she retired from civil service and she looks forward to seeing her son after a long hiatus. Besides, she will need some help rebuilding the roof of her kitchen, which collapsed after a recent hurricane.

Before that, though, I'm hoping to squeeze in another trip to Northern Italy, where my dad's family live. Lake Como should be warm enough for swimming and can't wait to stay in my dad's log cabin (and drinking all his brandy in the process).
