There's something to be said about teddy's in the 70s - they usually had legs that hung down instead of like they were sitting. I still have three of mine! Did you keep yours?

34? Really? Wow, you look like you'd be 23 or something.

I think I kept my teddybear, it must be in a box somewhere. And yeah - now that you mention it, it did prefer to stand up. Teddybears these days are too damn lazy. disbelief

You didn't have a thing for Star Wars, did you?

The bad thing was that I sold everything I had in a garage sale in 1984. wall

When the toys from the original trilogy made a comeback in the 90s, I bought EVERYTHING to make up for that day of regret.

Ugh... don't you wish you could go back and take back those garage sales? I sold all of my matchbox cars in the 80's, too, and I wish I had them today.

sad

When my kids outgrow things I take and box up what they may one day want, before they have a chance to give it away and regret it later.

mad

I googled up Benjamin before for that "Picture of your Books" thread, because I know he wrote this famous essay called "Unpacking My Library." But I found that quote instead (I don't know where it's from) and it just seemed more appropriate. touched

It's funny, this thread is kind of like that other thread. lol I used to collect comic books in the 70s the same way and maybe for some of the same reasons I collect books now.

So, short answer? YES I GOOGLED IT!! mad

Good, otherwise I may have developed a short-term crush on you had you pulled that from memory.

I used to collect comic books, too! My dad and I would go to flea markets and buy tons of them for pennies! Well, those were mine. His he liked "new" looking and he keeps them in those plastic covers. I had stacks and stacks of them!

God, that's funny. I remember laying backwards in the seat in the back of the car, reading my comics, before we had to "click it or ticket", and I'd get the most agonizing headaches from reading upside down with my head hanging off the edge of the seat!

Yeah, I used to go through periods of putting them in those plastic covers, but could never be arsed [damn, I gotta stay away from those British Orgers confused ] to most of the time. I used to like reading them, and handling them, and organizing and reorganizing them too much. lol

I can just picture a small little you organizing them over and over! lol

Romance ones? Ack! I'm not into romance first of all, but I really liked the comics with the goofy art and not the art/drawings that looked like real people. No Batman, no westerns - mindless, pointless, and pretty much plotless is where it was at for me!
