Revenge Of The Sith - Not Worth It!!

Last night, my husband and I went 2 see the new Star Wars flick(it was a belated Wedding Anniversary present 2 my husband!!) and if u want my opinion it wasnt worth the entrance fee!! To us it wasnt worth it!! It was just a 2 1/2 hour audio and visual effects Exhibition, to b honest!! The Storyline was a bit weak and even at the start of the movie u entered slap bang in the middle of a battle!!!

Having seen the movie now we just couldnt understand what all the media hype was about!!shocked shocked

I am not surprised it is the last one!! Basically I think George Lucas has run out of ideas!! lol lol

We sat through the whole movie and came out at the end totally clueless as 2 what or who the Sith was!! lol lol lol

this movie reaffirmed my belief in lucas' talent. there was depth, story and meaning brought back to the star wars universe. it even makes the nature of the first two make sense, even though as stand alone movies, those first two are indeed pretty crappy. however, their "perfection" in the visuals and lack of depth elsewhere is intentional...we see the balance of the star wars world "the force" (ie, warmth, love, etc) restored in the later films and it all begins in Sith.

want more did you want from this film? i suspect, like prince once said (to paraphrase very roughly), you weren't in the right headspace to appreciate it. if you really love star wars, you might want to see this film again and you just might agree along with myself and other fans (read: NOT fanboys) that it is one of the best in the series. my twocents

The problem with Lucas is that he is too much of a control freak, sure it's his baby and he doesn't want anyone to touch it BUT the fact of the matter is his scripts are usually pretty bad and he can't direct actors for toffee.

The fact that you have been negative about this movie means nothing Gold, you are negative about everything so why should we take any notice. I'll make my own mind up tonight thanks.

And she's not the sharpest tool in the box so understanding 2 previous films which were for kids is understandable!

Loved it! dancing jig

It had the usual few really dumb scenes, but every SW movie did. I just watched "Jedi" not too long ago, and I forgot how dumb that movie is in a lot of parts.

But as a whole, "Sith" rocked. The action was great. The battle at the beginning and the saber fights were 1st rate.

The movie is dumbshit compared to Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back... those movies had cool characters that always said cool things that seemed natural or had natural attitudes. you had a princess in peril that was a smart ass bitch, a hero that was a naive dingy horny surfer boy, and a ship's captain that was a greedy selfish sleaze. not to mention a wizard that was a shambling frail old man.

Is there a situation as focused and as full of character as the trash compactor scene? Or the cantina scene? Or... oh what's the use.

But I do like the new movie better than Return of the Jedi which I can't watch because the characters are not cool twists like they were in the first two.

My son is suddenly geeked out on Star Wars and is currently watching all of the movies. He wants to go and see this new one, but I've heard it's pretty dark. Is it something that an eight year old could go and see?

I'm sure all eight years old boys love dark and scary things. Plus Star Wars has light sabre fights too. Tell me what boy young and old doesn't love light sabre fights!

Oh he loves light sabre fights. He's gone through three of those things already.

He doesn't so much dig the scary things and that's what worries me. If his sister wanted to see it we'd be all set with no worries! So... in what way is it dark and scary? Blood and Gore or something else?

Well what can I say, I really enjoyed Revenge of the Sith, sure the acting and script was a bit clunky in places but what an amazing imagination that guy has, the effects and sound were simply stunning. They really shouldn't have bothered getting a Peter Cushing lookalike though, it just didn't work for me, you can't replace an actor like that.

So thanks Gold319 for your negativity but I won't be taking any notice..thanks all the same razz razz

You may want to see it first. If he doesn't like gore it is a stretch. When Darth Vader is formed it is gory for 8. My son is 9 and didn't seem bothered but he did jump about a bit through that section. shrug

I took my 7 year old daughter and she was okay. There is no blood or gore but a few limbs and heads get lopped off. The goriest part is when Vader gets burnt but it really isnt that bad.

My girl is good with this stuff though and I talked to het alot both before and after to assure her it is all "pretend". She slept well last night without any nightmares.

She is now totally obsessed with Star Wars. rolleyes

She was VERY disspointed in Anakin. biggrin

ROTS is a great movie. Seriously, it's full of nice story elements and tragic ironies if you'd just pay attention and notice them.

It ties I & II together perfectly and has amazing fight sequences.

Very dark, imaginative, and full of heart.
